I have an instrument on Kontakt that has a main tab, a UI with a lot of knobs and settings such as (reverb, attack, sustain ect....) if I edit it them to my liking then save the nki file and open it, visually they will be at same value I have set them up for but if you play the instrument it sounds like the original factory settings so I have to adjust knob by knob again... I tried accessing the script editor of the main tab but the button "Edit" isn't even pressable. what can I do to save my settings once for all ? it is really annoying to adjust one by one each time I load the instrument. thanks!

 

Which Kontakt version are you using?

 

The Snapshot option perhaps would be a life-saver for your problem. But I don't know since what Kontakt versions nor if the libraries need to be designed to accept them (I don't think so but...).

 

Kontakt 5.6.6 and 5.7.3 and 6.2.1 all of them are full version and i cant edit script of this particular library by 8dio. Is there anyway i can change my desired settings ?

 

cracked kontakt (probably) can edit protected scripts.

Because snapshots doesnt do the job. it will save settings just like when saving the nki file. Visually all knobs will be at same value you adjusted them for but if you play the instrument it will sound exactly like the factory settings. I have to do them all knob by knob again... all of my kontakt versions are cracked. But none of them can access the script code of this library. The edit option is just not pressable you cant click on it

 

what is the 8dio library you trying to edit? this library for kontakt player and required installation or for kontakt pro?
I try to open script from Claire Alto Flute Virtuoso library (required kontakt pro) with kontakt 5.6.6 and kontakt 6.2.2 - it's working.

 

8dio adagio violin.. if i edit volume and gain i can save the library and it will be at same value i saved it at but tightness and attack and sustain ect.. i cant save them to my desired settings because they will be always at default value. I have full version of kontakt and cracked it is not kontakt player.. still cant edit the script... i am looking for a way to save to my desired settings because it is annoying to adjust everytime you load the instrument

Or another way to avoid making it manually?
Some libraries have to many presets and takes a lot work!

 

yes, you can save snapshot in kontakt.



- click on "camera" icon, then click on "disc" icon.
- enter filename and save it.

That's what I meant when I said to do it manually.
I was asking if there was a tool to do it faster, like a .nki to nksn converter (snapshot).
there are many libraries that have hundreds of nki (for example toska) and it takes a lot of time to do it one by one.
or maybe some forum where snapshots are shared?

 

BTW, I think already mentioned. About libraries released in sister site that work on cr*cked Kontakts.
Some doesn't allow to edit scripts and some do.

It's very likely that this is related to that encryption of the instruments files (.nki). The point is I don't think you can do anything about it. And I guess those encrypted nki's are the ones who doesn't allow changes. Be it resaving as different nkis or taking snapshots.

Master @Talula and others know way more than I do so perhaps I'm wrong.

if you’re talking about cases where it’s impossible to click on the “edit” button, then this is done in such a simple way that it’s even more offensive. usually, developers simply insert a regulator that does not change anything into the interface and make it invisible to the user (it appears only in the nki file editing mode on the “script editing” tab). this creates a vicious circle: in order for the button to become clickable, you need to move the object located on top of the button; but in order to move this object, you need to make changes to the script, and for this you need to click on the button. troll developers use png, consisting of one transparent background, instead of a regulator. in this case, it seems that the button is really disabled. but if you spend a few minutes of time and several thousand nerve cells, then after several unsuccessful attempts you will still be able to open the script editor.

 

It's so messed up I could hardly believe it... if I hadn't seen worse things. But still difficult to process for me.

I've seen several times the edit button hidden. Clicking on the bottom left where is supposed to be worked. And sometimes the edit button is perfectly visible but doesn't work.

But isn't very easy to protect the scripts with a password, for instance?

 

I can’t say anything about the latest versions (at least about kontakt 7.X), but some previous cracked versions bypassed this too: if the developer set a password, then these versions simply opened the script.

perhaps this influenced the developers, because I have not seen libraries in which the script was password protected for several years.

 

actually, edit script is fully unlocked in the portable.

i can only unlock heavocity more from one key to add, in the setup version
but others third part stay locked. hammer and waves, devastator or mixwave drums.
that open well on the portable.

i checked the portable keys but without success, i didn't find the full trick yet.
so some will not open in the setup version.

i don't know what it say on mac versions.

Actually a few days ago I found the first library in a long while with locked script. And it could be an old one.

i have the response about the locked scripts.
the edit button need to force the layer order, it can be modified with resources hacker.

waiting a patcher update,you can...
import FRM 158 & 161 from portable, to regular patched kontakt.& now all will open correctlly.

active buttons under transparent layer is what they use to lock the editing on third part libraries.

 

I have version of kontakt 7.x with interesting feature. If the "Edit" button blocked with an image, I can unlock it:
just right click 3 times over "Edit" button opening editor.
