What did you think. I'm having a lot of difficulty progressing in the genre.

    Thanks for your attention.

I like the drums, they sound like they hit. I think you used the vocal sample well too! I think this is pretty dope. I have similar struggles with just feeling like i'm doing the same thing alot, or sounding the same. For that, I try to get out of my comfort zone do something off the wall, or sometimes I take a break from music all together and just be a computer nerd.

So back to the beat, did you use all samples, or some of this VST? That's one thing I was thinking when I was listening is I could hear some higher pitched counter melody in my head, maybe a little sax going off some or something. I still think this was dope, though I mean sounded really professional!

    Sounds good.
The samples sound off a little to me but since this is more of a lo-fi/chillout type of beat it's no big deal.
Over all, i like it though.

i liked it. i'm not sure about about your decision to use so little reverb. it takes a little getting used to it. but it's a nice track.

It all seems a little flat without sense of space leaving it dry like that. Also the wayyy behind drum hits took me out of the game when you introduced that snare thing at about 1:03...and what dondada said! Also, some live instruments would give it some life as Dimentagon mentioned in order to wash the starch out of the song...it's a bit stiff.

its pretty generic sounding for the style, even down to the Bill Withers sample. step outside of your comfort zone and take risks creatively, thats how youll grow artistically. youll be able to bring back fresh ideas, right now its kinda cliche sounding

Instead of sampling. (i use vinyl samples most of the time) maybe you could try something like my friend Jon. ;-)
It's a nice break from digging for samples. And can really help you find inspiration.
I chose the video above because he makes a nice beat and then destroys it to create something else.

I always have more fun and make better beats using this method.
But there is nothing wrong with sampling. Just ask Rizza or Q-tip ;-)
But you may need to be more creative with it. Instead of sampling 1 or 2 bars. Make more chops and try to make your own composition. And that can be a lot of work. And by the time your done inspiration may have flown out the window.
Or....u can find a sample, play it yourself and then sample that.

Hope it's not your last work but your latest ;-)
