If we're including songs by solo Beatles, Mother from Plastic Ono Band is pretty bleak:

That was my first pick, but then I went to Carry That Weight but then I just said fuck it and Im going with 'The End', because it was literally the end of it all. Side 2 of Abbey Road is just fucking magnificent. (Side 1 too hah)

"the songwwriting secretsof the beatles'' by dominic pedler

very deep. imo, you can pretty much use it as a bible for songwriting chord work, melodies and vocal harmony.

my vote would be 'for no one' an ''she's leaving home'. ''girl'' has a type of sad

Yellow Submarine is easily the saddest song. Who the fuck wants to live in a submarine?

Don't Bother Me ... Since she's been gone, I want no one to talk to me, It's not the same but I'm to blame it's plain to see
I Need You... You don't want my lovin' anymore, That's when it hurt me, And feeling like this, I just can't go on anymore
I'm a Loser ... Beneath this mask I am wearing a frown, My tears are falling like rain from the sky, Is it for her or myself that I cry?
Nowhere Man ... Doesn't have a point of view, Knows not where he's going to, Isn't he a bit like you and me?
... agree with: Yesterday, If I Fell, She's Leaving Home, Eleanor Rigby, JL's Mother, For No One

there are quotes by George Martin: Paul wanted a french horn solo, so he just sung it and I transcribed and arranged it
