Solution: get a copy of FSmonitor an record the changes in the system while you're moving the libraries order in Kontakt.

 

It happens when you quit Kontakt as far as I can tell rather than whilst you re-order your libraries. Until you quit, Kontakt caches the changes and makes them permanent when you quit. What is for sure is that if you quit and re-boot Kontakt straight away, the new order is saved, which doesn't happen when re-ordered in KLU. You have to re-boot the machine to show the saved order from KLU. I need to find the missing link !

 

Hey guys! I'm seeking some help, I know a little about patching and have been doing well up until lately. My problem is Kontakt Library 2, I installed Kontakt 7.8.1 and all my libraries are working except for the factory library it keeps saying the "library is not installed currently", the SNPID matches, and everything else is good but it just won't load any help, please? Mac OS Monterey

Reinstall the Kontakt Factory Library 2 Big PAckage.


then test it.

If succesfull... apply the update.

Test again.

If Succesfull.... make a Report here please.

 

Thanks for responding! actually, its both I installed the big package first and it says that the library is currently not installed so I tried installing the update to see if that would fix it but it's the same result.

Just found out that if you change wallpaper, the library order goes crazy.

Also, does it work for you when you rearrange the library on KLU manually one by one? For me only rearranging them by vendor works...

Testing Kontakt Utility Library (KLU) version 2.2.0 on m1 Mac mini running Sonoma 14.4.1. Installed 4 sound libraries. Tested with Kontakt 7.9. All good when I adding them one library at a time. I also remove all 4 the libraries one by one. Only the last library to remove also has this error. Tested with 6-7 libraries, only the last removal of library has this error. However after relaunch KLU, refresh then can remove. just to let you know on this small bug. Anyway, KLU a great app from you

Humbly asking for help from any MAC Kontakt .xml experts out there.

I decided to get serious about organizing my library tab. So I moved all my .xmls out of my application support/Native Instruments/Service Center folder. All the ones that I moved out disappeared from the library tab. As I add them back in they appear in the library tab again.

The problem is there are 100s of libraries that remain in the library tab even though the Service Center folder is empty. KLU does not see these libraries and when I use KLU to organize or list them it says that no libraries are present.

Native Access sees them.

I can't figure out where the .xml for these libraries are residing on my computer. Or if there is another way Kontakt is doing this.

The NativeAccess.xml contains all of these phantom libraries and if I trash that document it will rebuild it after opening and closing Native Access. (Where is NA getting this info?!?!?!).

Can anyone offer a clue or some advice on how I can locate the phantom .xmls or how Kontakt or Native Access are building this list?

Off topic but just wanted to pass on my thoughts and prayers as you embark on this journey .. have been thinking of doing the same for years but just don't have the guts to sort out the mess that's there lol

 

can i use the v2 version of KLU with that version of Kontakt 7? or i have to get kontakt 7 specifically for that release of KLU?

 

KLU 2 works just great with Kontakt 7.

I've been having a successful ride with it over the last few weeks as I have been bringing in stuff to my new system, and as long as you read the Fred Bloggs FAQ closely, and adhere to it, everything works swimmingly so far. I've used it for TB's of libraries, and the only problems I have had have been on MY end so far for the most part (just sloppy or something), but KLU 2 is a fantastic tool and I don't know how I would deal without it tbh... so once again, more respect and thanks to @Fred Bloggs for the time and effort he spent in making it, explaining it with his faq, and making it better over time.

I use it with the HCiSO release, (although make sure to use the KLU versions released on THIS thread by the man himself, as sometimes the versions included in the HCiSO releases are not current etc... (I know HCiSO is not out to screw anyone or confuse anyone of course, and are just trying to help obviously lol, but HCiSO has released the most stable versions out there that I know of for macOS of late and have been solid for me).

So just use the one provided in the first post (which is updated from time to time), and you should be golden.

 

thank you for the response.. may i ask please how i can solve demo mode using KLU2? i am trying to load an older Kontakt library, HZ01 Percussion but even if i create nicnt in KLUv2 it is still coming out in demo mode. how can i fix this?

 

There could be something weird with that library, or it could be user error with not adhering to the FAQ completely.

My recommendation would be to remove it from your library using KLU 2, ( perhaps even removing all traces of it from NA/prefs/xmls/plists etc if this doesn't work), reinstall it, add it with KLU2, and boot up k'd Kontakt 7 after, before instantiating Kontakt in your daw.

That seems to be the most solid/consistent thing for me anyways.


There is one install I am having trouble with, Kinetic Toys lol, and while I could give an s about it really, it annoys me that I can't get it to work... so I try different things just out of obstinance...

Also something peculiar I noticed, was that I "used" to be able to boot old Kontakt 5.6.8 on my Sonoma machine to add libraries, and for some reason now it won't even boot... I'm not sure what happened or if I did something, but fortunately haven't needed it or 5.6.6, and Kontakt v6.8 is fine.... but those 2 things are the only real little hangups I have had...

Now I'm still in the "populating" stage with decades of libraries, so I haven't tried to nail down "ordering" yet, and also I hate the fact that it appears the "database" has been nuked, or setting specific user folders for 3rd party "non pay into NI's extortion to appear in the side panel" folders or my own are not as easy to navigate/get to. (and I just probably need to spend some time figuring that part out)....

so I'm not a huge fan of the way Kontakt is going re: v7 in terms of how I have historically used it... but I still need to spend some time to see if there are solutions to the issues I have... it just seems like more of a sales market now, and I don't like the fact it takes me longer to access libraries I have made myself etc...

 

is there a PC version of this utility ?
