Between these two synths they sound good but phaseplant has more detail when I tested out serum it had an LFO that you can modulate in the middle so the waveform can modulate itself like what you would do in a waveshaper would when you bend it phaseplant doesn’t have that and phaseplant’s phaser sounds bad along with the flanger and I had to put two flangers to make it sound like a jet sound but what’s even interesting is that you can make the flanger an additive by using the motion knob if only it was a good sounding flanger that would be nice and another thing when I tried razor it had a comb notch that you can take out the responding frequently and all the notches sound like it’s filtered down if only phaseplant has that it will be cool also another thing razor is used by sine waves not the effects itself it’s just literal sines doing a whole bunch of stuff if both serum and phaseplant have that it would be a great feature and more versatile more than just listening to what a access virus ti wouldn’t sound like serum should add comb notch and phaseplant too so I just want to keep a mind about that also there should be bug fixes that would be excellent. And yes I tested both and they don’t have an arp and a sequencer like the Ron Fed Preuma Pro also serum needs the motion knob and the motion knob notch plus phaseplant motion knob flanger notch additive sorry for my bad english

 

That is quite possibly the longest run-on sentence I have ever seen.

They are very different synths. What sort of music do you make? If I did not have either one of them, I would buy Serum first. If you make noisy, angry, aggressive, distorted music; maybe get Phaseplant first.

You can address any "missing features" with plugins in your DAW software and third-party plugins. Specifically, MFX plugins.

Honestly, i'd just recommend trying these out for extended periods of time and seeing which one is best suited for you.

Phaseplant, Serum, Vital and a lot of other synths can be quite interchangeable. It's all about your preferences though. Unfortuntaely, you can't really have everything in one synth. The only thing that comes close to that is Omnisphere, but its' workflow is not as fast as the ones mentioned previously.

And I agree with clone, a lot of "missing features" can be replicated with built-in DAW plugins.

 

Vital is garbage the sound is like there’s more low end than it is in the high end and mid plus the distortion sounds terrible the multi an though sounds excellent compare to minimal audios current and the fuse compressor is like the best third party compressor I’ve ever heard I wish whoever made vital would do alot better than those other plugins you got to listen to it with your headphones though and the speakers but you know what I find interesting is that Ron Fed Preuma Pro has a stereo feature and it sounds wonderful also the rest of the synths should have a limiter though like current

 

Current is indeed amazing. Why not buy it? That seems like the best option for you.

 

I’m sorry but the guy who invented vital should work on the audio quality a bit more but I’m okay with it

I make drum and bass but with harmony and melody sometimes just neurofunk and classic reese bass good stuff bro

 

I did I own the effects and the license but I didn’t notice the other synths till now sadly but still I use it on making bells and neurofunk sounds even downloaded patches that the users made in the current cloud engine I love the sound design and the granular engine

 

Normally I would say you should go with Phaseplant. But the newer DSP56300 virus TI emulator is going to have phase distortion synthesis available in it too. Something else to keep in mind, is that they are working on a Serum 2. It's not that Phaseplant cannot make "nice" sounds, but it is better at nasty sounds. And there are something like 100,000 presets for Serum you can add, and many of them include more wavetables. There are so many less available for Phaseplant, like a small fraction. That is because Serum is a way more well-rounded synth.

I would wait on both of them, if you can get by using " extended demos" of both. Maybe try a demo of Parawave Rapid too first, because apparently paying for that synth is the only way you are going to get a copy of it. Even if it is old.
