Personally I don't see it. They already have a huge following, 634K+ on FB alone, many of which will no doubt at least check it out. It's free after all.

 

Very few of us really get the opportunity to download and play the Behringer Vintage synth, so most of our conclusions are based on the very few demonstrations on Youtube that exist. Judging purely based on these videos I have to say that I'm very underwhelmed. I would assume that even standard JUCE oscillators and filters would sound superior to what I've heard in those videos, but what do I know? If it's really supposed to be an attempt to modelling the sound of vintage synths, I would say they haven't achieved their goal.

now i feel the need to explain what i wanted to say with this "juce" hint.

the ladder filter from juce does not "sound bad" or something. it is just completly retarded and implausible to claim "meticulous modelling of vintage synths" when you even copypasted the product logo from another company like if you´re 12 years old.

They worked with Orastron instead, another company that provides free DSP code.

The Behringer hate in the audio world reminds me of Nazi Germany sometimes, sheesh.
