Does $200 seem like a good deal on this plugin bundle? Not sure how often UAD deep discount these things. It comes with a Solo PCIe card but I wouldn't need that if I used the native versions which I think most of these have.

This is a very good deal in my opinion!

I recently got the Studio bundle (it was 169$ with taxes I think; huge investment) - it really is a great thing.

This offer above is interesting too though - you get a lot of stuff which is not native yet, but will be eventually, which you can claim for free. Do make sure that these are not legacy versions.

The drawback - you miss out on newer stuff. No Distressor, Waterfall B3 Organ, Waterfall Rotary Speaker, Manley Tube Preamp, Avalon VT-737 Tube Channel Strip, Pure Plate, all the other new reverbs...

...But! You're getting the coolest UA effects like Cooper Time Cube, EP-34, Helios Type 69 Preamp and EQ and etc.

It really all depends on what you want. For me, the Studio bundle for it's price was really great. Would I take this offer instead? Perhaps yes, perhaps no. You're definitely not missing out on anything, but you're getting a bit of a different set of tools.

Once again, please make sure that these are not legacy versions - that is the most important thing. The 1176 names look like legacy ones. Maybe someone could correct me.

 

what is this mention of a pcie card for? it looks like a very good deal, if you actually end up with that list of plugins. the 224 by itself is more than that.

it is UAD, so read the fine print about 3 times.

 

Great info thanks. I will see what the situation is with legacy version. The card that the plugins are attached to is quite old now so I suppose they could be old versions. I guess that means they wouldn't be transferrable to the native versions?

 

The plugins are part of a bundle with the Solo card. I mentioned it as I thought the latest versions of the plugins might stretch the card so might be better run native as I have a decent PC. Though it looks like this legacy version thing could be a problem.
