Harrowing news indeed.

My condolences go out to Madame and her son. I hope he was peaceful at the end and that he and his loved ones reconciled so that no regrets and only memories of love and good deeds are left to remember him.

He was a character, and you could tell from what angered him and what did not that he came up in the world through the most difficult and hardest path available but that it didn't scar him with anger and hate, just more love.

Oh man, I didn't know about his disease. Damn, that makes this much more surprising, 'cos Oly was always a very kind and polite person, even when he scolded us for something wrong, always with an incredible ability to try to put things into perspective, so we all learned something good from him.

May the infinite providence comfort his family at this difficult time. He will be greatly missed, both there and here, for sure.

Oly made me think before I posted. I often skated over the edge with my humour and I soon heard about it. That was a good thing. Oly was a good cop. He was always helpful and seemed to keep everything running smoothly both here and with the sister site. I didn't know him personally but everything I knew about him here informed me that he was a good person. He will be missed.

It says a lot about his character that he never got in a power ego trip being in charge of such a huge forum. @No Avenger, you guys were a great team of mods, my condolences to you and @SAiNT (and everyone touched by this tragedy for that matter).

I always wanted to bombard him with questions in PMs as we're from the same country but felt like it would annoy him. Oh well. Repose en paix cher Oly.

 

Very sad news indeed. The true mark of the man was his ability to do such a great job for everyone else, whilst the whole time suffering yet I never heard him complain once.
Oly will be a huge loss to everyone on this site.

Such a shit thing! Cancer is the worst! I hope he didn't suffer too much as he was one of the good ones and didn't deserve that! RIP Oly!
