Things really need to be funny first to count as humour.

They silently made the addons exclusive available when you subscribe, eg Audio Batch Converter:

Alone for that step I move AWAY from using Presonus Studio One

@AudioTiger So you like the move from Presonus to make previous available things no longer purchasable?
Or why did you dislike my post, please?

    recap:
If somone starts using StudioOne right now and havent purchased all Addons the only way to use them is to pay $239,88 / Year

Fine for me, I already own all of the addons available, but is the whole package worth
239,88/ Year? not really, For that money we can buy even better plugins which do the same and even more.

Why would someone pay monthly to be able to edit my Presence XT patches when we could just buy NI Kontakt for a one time purchase ?! Besides that the PresenceXT editor is a joke, it is completely half baked and neglected by the developers. Instead fixing bugs or improving studio one they add marketing tools liek TuneCore. What's your damage ?

A change in a particular feature (or the unavailability of it) is a weak reason to "move away" from a DAW. I mean, If you REALLY like it and it fits your natural workflow (unless you want it ONLY for THAT feature -- and in this case you are not using it like a DAW, but as a converter).

    ....

It is not about features, it is about the
    behavior of the company.
Similar situation where Waves introduces subscription only :) But hey that just ME.

I disagree with this, only because your are looking at very surface level stuff here. It sets a precedence of making things exclusively available to subscription customers, forcing people to subscribe by devaluing their perpetual licenses bought in good faith. I wouldn't be surprised if v7 starts taking this further, probably making it so that you can upgrade your perpetual license but will only have even further limited features, or you can instead change to subscription and get all features. I, and many others, suspect the limited instruments and addons being made available to subscription only customers is the start. I wouldn't be at all surprised if this is extended to other addons and features, such as Melodyne Essentials being subscription only, unlimited tracks being subscription only, and so on. They would have been much wiser to have taken the approach of something like having every tool/function ailable to perpetual license holders too, but perhaps limiting things like soundsets and presets for this to subscription only customers.

You're missing the point focusing on the availability of a specific addon. It is the concerning precedent it sets that is making lots of Studio One customers feel nervous enough to make the move now, including many Studio One "influences" with established and large YouTube channels and so on, who will be waymore in the knowabput what's going on in the background that the layman customer.

It feels like it just the start of the post-Fender buy out into pripriting subscription customers and by v7. 5/8/8.5 be similar to the Avid ProTools model and extortionately expensive for long term use. This is plenty enough concern for some customers to warrant jumping ship to a new DAW, like Cubase.
