I've recently bought their 1176, LA-2A, Pultec, Oxide Tape Recorder and Studio D Chorus in native versions. Never used them before that. I am quite impressed with how they sound and how easy it is to dial the right settings, those tools give great results almost instantly. I compared their 1176 and LA-2A with various other emulations that I have, and each time I liked the UAD plugins better.

P.S. iLok is shit without a doubt, but Plugin Alliance straight up deleted my account with a LOT of plugins that I legally purchased soon after February 24th, 2022, just because I had "mail.RU" email address (I don't even live in Russia; this email service was just available at the time). I sent them a few emails, but there was no reply. It just says "this account doesn't exist" if try logging in. Now that's a lot worse than iLok, if you ask me.

absolutely worth.. i tried all native plugins of UAD and they are much better than Waves.. they just.. all very good

 

I own the complete bundle but honestly it’s not worth if you don’t have enough dsp!

I suggest you to buy only if you find the way to get in touch with people who install them from remote. I did it few months ago and it’s still working, unfortunately the guy who did this deleted his profile but i know that someone else is actually doing this process, keep searching it

look for the distressor. their version is legit 1:1 (i tried both side wih the exact same parameters... something that none other dev could match)... outside of that, i would just buy plugin alliance

 

When they released Native. We took the Cheap everything 3 month deal to try it and love it. When it run out we took a 12 month deal because we weren't sure what pugins we would actually buy. So we have one machine on cloud and one on Ilok.
I purchased the Mix Bundle and Electra because we knew we wanted all them for certain. We have a few more we will buy, (Manley, Helios, Sound city and we will see what else they release.) I dont buy into the DSP thing as I have an i7 Nuc with 64 gig of ram and an 8tb / 1tb SSD drives running Audiogridder to my MAcbook pro M1 Max...
In my opinion , the UAD stuff along with Fab Filter & a few others in the PIA space are some of the best out there. The native UAD plugs are a good investment. That being said I run Bitwig and the Bitwig studio stock plugs are absolutly amazing strait outa the box. The same can be said for Logic & Presonus.

 

It depends on your cartoon, if the processing plugin is heavy, DSP is definitely better

 

UAD tends to incite "cult like" behavior from their customers... for so many reasons, from the gamification of their 'coupons' and redemptions to 'marked down' sales and whatnot.

I don't think they are bad, at all. just not all that at all either. nowhere close.

transparency: They have f'd me over a couple times over with hardware purchases and license transfers from their original units/cards... and so yeah, that is going to bring a little to my table on them in terms of opinion...

But I jokingly refer to them as the audio worlds closest equivalent to MAGA, and it really doesn't take much to find better or equivalent for less or certainly less hassle and shakedown, and those that buy into it, ... well, the big lie keeps rolling with the small dollar donors and those that aren't really getting the deal they think they are...
