Because if you use this step, if you have legit licences, steinberg will never use them anymore. To not use this step, you have to download and use R2R patched version of all product that you want : cubase R2R, Halion R2R, padshop R2R, etc.

 

The fix is in the PS section.
It was R2R installer NOT copying licence-engine-access.dll into the right folder.

Seen the fix on sister site.

 

On a PC with Steinberg.Cubase.Pro.13.v13.0.10-R2R installed, download 13.0.20 from the official website, run the installer, and update it. Create "Activation Manager" folder in "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Steinberg\" and copy "license-engine-access.dll" from "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Steinberg\TEAM R2R\" and paste it to "Activation Manager" folder.

It seems to start up without any problems. Correct?

Yes has been working since the beginning of R2R C12, always used retail c12 now c13 and all apps like halion etc, never had to do anything except copying license-engine-access.dll from R2r folder to steinberg where the same official file was.

 

Did you install the separate "Media Bay" that seems to be mandatory now ?

 

Has anyone got the new Nuendo 13.0.20 working on Mac? I tried the 13.0.10 patch but sadly that just seems to patch it back to 13.0.10...

 

I installed everything properly everything opes up but there is no sound what to do the sine wave and pink noise generators work I can hear them but nothing else can anyone help.

I'm not using an audio interface I'm just using the 3.5mm Jack on my laptop
And using ASIO4ALL v2

Hi I have downloaded the latest Cubase from R2R. In the instruction it says: Install TEAM R2R Root Certificate and Install TEAM R2R Steinberg Silk Emulator, but I cannot find it in the package. Any hint where its ? How I can get it? Thanks a lot

 

Maybe at the time this thread started (2 years ago) this was necessary for the Team V.R. side of the equation. I love Team R2R but I have to defer to the Team V.R. method on the steiny stuff as there is just no denying (anymore) that it simply works better IMO and is much easier to update. The two latest V.R. Cubase/Nuendo updates hardly required much more than installing the update and moving on. Both teams approach is basically the same systemically, but the R2R method requires more user hoops to be jumped through that become tedious when something fails. Given that this thread anymore contains mostly questions about what to do when the R2R process fails just galvanizes my point.

The root certificate and the emulator are separate downloads. Just search for "R2R root" and "R2R emulator" and you will find what you are looking for.

Once you have the certificate and the R2R emulator installed, you can simply update. I use the official Steinberg download directly. With the emulator, it's as if you have an official licence and can use all official downloads. And that applies to every product.

I have to admit that installing the root certificate is a bit of a hurdle if you've never done it before. But you only have to do it once. And there are plenty of instructions on the web or on the sister site.

 

From r2r's silk emu nfo:
"Since this is a true emulator, all legit Silk powered apps (installed by legit installer) would work
if you place our emulator DLL to legit Silk DLL path.
Our Steinberg releases are patched (and re-signed) just to make compatible with legit installation.

If you use both legit and emulator versions of Steinberg/Silk softwares, you need to use the patched version from r2r otherwise the versions won't mix. That's my understanding at least....

I recommend you to install R2R version.

 

What's the history on this?
- Is this a brand new install?
- Do you have other steinberg legit vs scene stuff installed?
- internet connected?
- a/v + firewall running & blocking?
- was there previous R2R stuff this was installed over?
etc, etc, etc...

 

Done the same thing with the V.R. release. Dunno about all steiny stuff being unlocked as I never put it to the complete test. Everything installed wavelab, cubase, nuendo, dorico, halion, all works flawlessely w/unlocker.

I would also recommend using the R2R version.
However, you should first remove all remnants of the V.R installation, otherwise problems will occur. The R2R instructions show you exactly how to completely remove your V.R installation from your computer.
