I know OP said they don't want to start a war, and neither do I, however Dan Worall made a short video that's awfully relevant to the topic. Can't just pass by.

 

I wouldn't use any of those compressors for vocals.. especially the Behringer one! They're all too cheap and not highend enough.

 

hello beautiful people, so I bought not 1, but 2 hardware compressors

I found someone who was selling all his gear and, for a reasonable price, I bought a Drawmer dl221 and Drawmer Mx30

Since I opened this thread I looked for good compressor plugins.

One problem I found is that my producer Machine doesnt know what internet is. It has always been and will always be offline

A lot of plugins that requieres online autentication to work wont be the way

So I decided to buy the Universal Audio Bundle and I realize that requires iLok and iLok is totally against my religious beliefs.

I still want the UA bundle, but I will have to talk with God first about iLok and, maybe, this will only occours after I die

I didnt receive the compressors yet. They are on the mail.

I will share with you my experience, even if you didn't ask or want.
