For hardcore kicks and leads - Trash 2, and Corrosion from Sinevibes. Corrosion seems to be cleaner, there is less muddy in lows(for me). Trash 2 is always on master(clip control)

 

It depends a lot of on what do you want to apply this distortion.
For synth you have the Kiloheart pack of plugins there also is the Parawave Rapid effect VST, both complementary. But Kilohearts is free to try ...

many of the already mentioned above like rift, trash, Dj Swivel Big Distortion Engine BDE, every Logic stock distortion, reaktor 6. Sometimes even SerumFX, for electronic stuff. Saturn2, amplitube and gr5, Logic Overdrive. I'm not very set in my ways when it comes to distortion plugins.

Really well put Artic! Lol, i've been slapping it on everything just to see how it sounds. I didn't even bother trying Trash 3 because this is doing everything I need.

The problem isn't on the plugin or releaser's end. There are way too many versions released by multiple different teams which have no complaints vs. hundreds of completed downloads of each release.

I think I've tried everything in my search for great digital distortion and these i use regularly now:

• Trash 2 - Destruction and sound design workhorse
• Spectre - On every channel to surgically boost elements
• BDE - General punch giver
• Decimort - Favourite bit crusher to age nicely
• Crushstation - 2nd Favourite crusher
• Khs Distortion - Used subtly all over to gently thicken
• DST - Great multiband smasher
• FMD - Great filth machine
• Infiltrator - Very creative distortion sound design tool
• Rift - Another creative sound design tool
• MwaveshaperMB - Distortion powerhouse I use to thicken and brighten sounds
  
  And really like 12's Roar, I could see me using that a lot

Okay, I did a Google search on all those, seems like high end plugins popular in the production industry. I will give them a go except for Saturn, Fabfilter UI is very off putting. I'm more inclined towards Analog interfaces.

HAHA, very funny. I found all of those except for the second in the list "output" what's the name of the plugin ? From the list though, Rift is pretty awesome as is Shaperbox but with Rift I couldn't produce that gritty gnarly hard distortion. I need to play it with more to understand all the parameters, there are so much possibilities with this plugin, gonna take some time.
