nowadays you can generate literally any kinds of porn shit using AI,
and there is no control with open-source models and datasets,
and no control over what kinds of nasty/wild/ill results you get from random prompts,

why would anyone bother with pornhub when they will be able to generate anything, for their personal tastes, in private,
I'd even bet AI can cure porn addiction, because once you realize there are no limits in virtual world, real shit gets boring quickly

I'm guessing this was aimed at me. This thread was my knee-jerk reaction to news I guess I didn't expect to see. Unfortunately, I can't have kids and there are no kids in my family anywhere. Kids were not the first thing to enter my mind, but now they are in my mind regarding this. I'm not spiritually ill and that was unneccesary to say. This is just a discussion.

Whatever the origins, PornHub are the ones who have rescinded service to Texas, not the other way around, and they did this presumably because requiring age verification hurts their business model.

Now, if you observe the many recent cases against PornHub regarding their failure to remove child abuse materials as well as entire catalogues dedicated to 'revenge porn', and that they long ignored many desperate pleas from the abused and their representatives for years despite full knowledge of the issue, then you might be able to surmise that their bottom line is profit - profiting not only on the backs of content creators themselves (and let me tell you, the average wage gap here is vastly beyond any other job I can think of), but in certain cases they have profited on the appetite for human cruelty itself.

So I am a little curious why you would seemingly rather side with a mega-corporation that surely isn't any more responsible or morally sound than the state you continue to bring up.


But I do agree with others here that think the new law is somewhat futile and that youngsters will no doubt find a way. Everybody desires that which is forbidden, especially the young and curious.

I think concerns about children's exposure are a real problem. But I think the solution shouldn't involve a general ban. There should be ways to prohibit for a certain age (children up to a certain age and people who have some type of dependency or associated pathology). From age X onwards, release (under normal temperature and pressure conditions. On the other hand, it is worth asking who is really normal nowadays... perhaps it is better to stop here!). As far as I know, another problem as big as exposure, is the fact that fathers and mothers refrain from talking about sex with their children, like, —I'm in favor of sexual orientation, as long as my child is not induced into anything prematurely and that I don't have to do this! it's almost like —I pay a professional so I don't need to do this counseling! But I realize that there are parents who simply spend little time with their children. Do you understand where I'm going? I'm not saying that children should chat with parents discussing pornography, but rather that, parents, at the appropriate time, should have a more incisive role in preparing their children's sexual development (between third childhood and adolescence), instead of let everything run wild 'cos everything is fine as long as it is in God's hands.
