Are the ones made in Japan mass-produced like the ones made in China?

The LTD EC-256 is a $500 guitar that could easily go for $800+. I got mine to tour with so that I wouldn’t have to worry about banging up my Gibsons. Turns out I don’t even want to play the Gibsons anymore. I’m saving up for an ESP and will probably sell one of my Les Pauls once I get it.

The LTD neck feels better than my other guitars that are several times more expensive. It’s probably the best feeling neck I’ve ever played.

They are popular with the rock & metal crowd but they can do anything.

Really though any guitar in your price range is going to be hit or miss. Lots of great suggestions here already, you can’t go wrong with any of them.

I would look at the player series not too bad. I don't have much experience with Yamaha as others have said.

No, you aren't wrong. The past >70 years of recorded and broadcasted popular music has defined certain styles with certain qualities and the instruments used for them follow certain conventions from a statistical standpoint. Of course you are free to do what you want, but if you are looking for a specific sound, there is a guitar out there to fit your needs, but not every guitar fits every need.

I found a used Fender FSR Mexican guitar that is close to me in my country. The original pick guard and pickups has been replaced, the fret has been replaced with steel fret and the top sill is ball-bearing as you can see in the photos. I'm going to try it today, but can anyone tell me whether to buy this guitar or not?

This is the original factory version. He's giving away the original pick guard and pickups. The price I'll get is about 800 dollars. If it is a good offer, I want to buy it and use it for a long time. I would be very happy if you can be interested, thank you.

Been a guitarist for almost 35 years ,, for me a guitar is a personal instrument, doesn't really matter what brand is, as long as you can play it comfortably it will surely the right one. While the other cosmetics can be upgraded such as the pickups, hardware etc, and also it can be refretted if you want to upgrade the fret. for 500$ I think you would better go with PRS SE, Keipro, Harley Benton, Cort, Sqoe, Soloking etc.

the market price is around 400. Did you ask the seller what's the replacement pickup set he's using ? You need to justify the added 400 price.

Me personally I'd say pass because the nuts also changed to locking nut. For your first stratocaster, doesnt really matter it's cheap or expensive, try get the most basic standard configuration. It's good for you to learn how shitty and fragile is stratocaster design and understand why people still crazy about it. Then maybe adjust/modify to your needs accordingly in time. Stratocaster is a unique electric guitar by today's guitar design standard, technically it's old and failed design, it's noisy af, easily hum, easily going out of tune but has the most glorious tone a guitar can offer. I'd say you better learn the hard way then you'll start appreciate the guitar and in time get more controls of how to play around its weaknesses and get the best out of it. The guitar above is heavily modified, has humbucker pickup and locking nut, probably won't 70% sounds like a proper stratocaster due to all the modification and its configuration (HSS current, stock H), well that's just probably me, a long time stratocaster lover. I'd say, pass. Find a standard SSS pickup (triple singe coil pickups) configuration with proper nut and maybe rosewood fret if possible. If your budget is around 800, it wont be that hard to get a good condition MIM (Fender Mexico). You don't have to listen to me, just sharing my thoughts.

video got nothing to do with anything, just one hell of a Stratocaster tone.

I think 800 dollars is a lot for used 15 years old guitar. Unless Jimi Hendrix played on it. Then it's a no brainer lol

I am looking for something similar myself and for the same sort of price, I'm only a beginner. I think I have decided to go with the new 2024 Ibanez GRG320FA TBS (Transparent Blue Sunburst) model.

I bought the cheapest guitar I could find (around 50 euros) and figured out what I disliked the most, and didn't care about.

For me, the most important factors are:
Stability and tunable. Semi important are the scale length, shape and pickups.

since it's and electric guitar, you can change the sound however you like with pedals, amps, virtual amps, plugins, etc.

So, based on my findings: search for a guitar with good tuners, and you're pretty much set.

Or save up for a Strandberg
