hi,just want to clarify soemthing so i know im using this correctly
i am using AKG K712,i have imported the profile that R2R provided
so with safe headroom enable i can move the volume up to -8.1 with it disabled i can put up to 0.0
so i put it up to zero correct?
now my output on master of cubase is 2.2 db louder with id on compared to when disabled.
do i bring volume down on id interface by -2.2 to compensate?

I usually bring down the output volume inside SoundID plugin.

so as i said,i bring down the output on sound id interface to get the output on cubase master to what it would be with sound id disabled?
when u say usually, why not all the time?

Correct. Adjust the output in the plugin. And why usually, because i sometimes forget to do it.

ok,thought there was more scientific reason for doing it! hehe
another thing thats buggin me,and just want to clarify. its possible to adjust the eq. why on earth would one want to do that if the thing has been adjusted to suit the headphones that are selected. kinda defeats the whole purpose,no?

The reason for it is that unless you send your headphones to them to get a custom calibration there will some margin of error to their standard correction file due to manufacturing changes, parts vendors etc. You can dial is their standard correction a little more if you would like using the eq.

Always put safe headroom on. Adjust volume elsewhere

i cant see point of adjusting eq,the whole point is the software meant to make your headphones sound neutral. how is anyone meant to know the correct eq to set to,apart from setting it to something they like the sound of.
