For about ten years, Myriad Web Pro was my default font for everything. Editors, games, browsers, chat clients, ..

Source Sans and Source Serif Pro 2.0 later replaced Myriad WP as my default 'reading' fonts for the web.
For eBooks I use Kievit Pro.
For programming, Hack is my font of choice.

 

For code/terminals I've been quite impressed by the new wave of monospace fonts. So currently I'm using Cascadia Code, and on the occasion I try out new things, Monaspace and Jetbrains Mono are very good. Monaspace Krypton is my preferred terminal font these days.

But the defaults for other things are fine by me normally, obviously being an IT nerd I'm just obsessive about monospace fonts.

I've always loved 8bit fonts, the ones with the 80's arcade vibe. Whatever is written with it, I feel like I can trust it

hard to pick a favorite but 2 of my favorite font creators are Hydro 74 and kern club. they both make really rad modern fonts and they both give a nice little batch of them away for free. enjoy!!

Sorry for overparticipating. I went and dug this out for this thread. I made it on C64 in 1984. Still have the data. 5 1/4" disks read flawlessly. It was to be a font for a game.

 

Microgramma is my all-time favorite. It is bold, versatile and stylish. Also love Gilroy, which is paid, so as an alternative I use DM Sans.

And the most beautiful serif of all time - New York by Apple.

yeah, the documentary is good as it provides the background as to why Helvetica was invented and its social implications..
