Maybe you can figure out some install sequence workaround of their software manager application. But I wouldn't go way out of the way or risk other plugins over this compressor. I think these companies are using a Random Price Generator, like PA. There is no chance I would pay 150$ for this plugin. Not even close.

 

Yes you can, just move any K'd plugins out of your vst folders before you install softube central to download/install this VCA comp (it runs checks when opened) if you need to use it, after insyall you can delete softube central and then put your k'd plugins back. If you ever forget in the future to remove the plugins before you open softube central (even for a sneek peak) it will remove the k'd plugins.
You can go to the softube installers page to get the VCA installer, im just not sure how you would register it without softube central, must be a way but I just use softube central

 

This plugin definitely is worth getting if you don't have the AA or UAD version. Downloaded Softube Central and nothing suspicious happened everything else was working fine but just to be secure I grabbed the offline installer instead

 

Exactly. This is what I meant by "install sequence". If you do it in the wrong order, you'll maybe end up having to start over. I don't think reinstalling some plugins is a big deal, if you have to. But some people who save their own presets, or whatever; can maybe lose work. Or have to track down some old installer.

On Mac it is different also. The old All bundle uses an old "exploit" to bypass the iLok, and you can play the plugin shell game to get around their software manager. Once installed, their manager app can be deleted. If it sees any shady copies, all it does is show them as "Legacy" inside their app and shows you have no available updates to those plugins.

much better than waves version. Im a huge dbx fan. i have a few of the hardwares and plenty of the emulations. my favorites in order



Acustica Grey Pro - it takes some tweaking and is less immediate, but once you lock it in, its insane. No other emulation packs the punch like it.

Arturia's - suprisignly good. can sound artificial, or thin at times, but when used subtly its very nice.

UAD - great plugin, nothing crazy, sounds good.

Softube - not enough time spent, but so far i enjoy the results.

Analog obsession - i kind of hate it, but like it in parallel

Waves - deleted it.
