    Hi,

I'm looking for a plugin that can randomly "humanize" an audio drum loop (to make the drum session imperfectly similar to a human playing) through automatic random change of some parameters like: time stretch/shift/pitch/transient mod, etc...

I don't want to do this kind of manipulation via midi drum/slicing etc...

I just want to know if it is possible to insert a drum loop (or a long drum track) into my daw (cubase Pro 12) and do this kind of manipulation via some vst plug or directly with cubase.

    Thanks all!

You can do this with Melodyne plugin (VST), the Percussive mode. It gives you high amounts of control and possibilities, and it's pretty easy because it "samples" your track in place and alters it, so you can adjust in context of everything else in your track.

The downside is that it's in no way automatic, you will need to learn and master the Melodyne tools and make the groove changes yourself with them. Double edged sword though, because the result is sure to be a lot better than anything fully automated and random.

You can either try to use a LFO / randomizer / envelope follower in Cubase to assign to the parameters you want to modulate or you use an effects plugin like Toneboosters Module (free).

Haven't used Cubase in years, but it should have LFOs or Midi effects that can be assigned to plugin parameters? In Ableton it's really easy to do.

I've not tried it so can't vouch for it, but have a look at Human Plugins

Human plugins seem to be the key to doing my thing, but they are too expensive for now... I will try it

Haven't used Cubase for a long time, but you should be able to do this with the Logical Editor in Cubase.
