how to control the width side? I downloaded two songs and there is a big difference in the treble. I know there is a stereo imager, but how to measure?

Any M/S spectrum analyzer will do, like the free Voxengo SPAN. Just set it to Mid and Sides.

Then you use M/S EQ and M/S balancer/mixer/widener/imager to set the balance (before SPAN analyzer).

If there's a big difference in treble that you want to remove, then mid-side width control is probably the wrong tool for correcting that. Treble difference can be adjusted with normal EQ without messing with the stereo balance.

just changing the volume with an equalizer or a multiband compressor in M/S mode?

it is not exactly the same as measuring the peak or power of the side signal, but closely releated to this is also what a -> correlation meter shows.

to remove too much side in the trebles you would reduce the side in the trebles.

multiband M/S tools are available in case you dont want to do it yourself with filterbanks.
