    probably the soft, tender, succulent fingers of the ruling class. A finger never belegaured by the corrosion of daily life etching lines and calluses upon the flesh. A finger so sensitive a servant must turn the pages while its owner reads a volume of musical passages by ac/dc.

    Such a person would naturally find a guitar string like a meat cleaver ready to rend flesh...

    start with nylon strings next time.......

    Funny :rofl::rofl::rofl:
    I Started with a Spanish guitar, it has Nylon strings (really only the first 3 strings).
    I have a Alhambra Spanish/Classical Guitar. A great instrument.

    Such things happen if the guitar is not properly adjusted. It applies to both expensive and cheap guitars.

    Sorry to hear you've had bad experiences with cheap instruments. But you can definitely get a good guitar for 300€ (or even less) nowadays, even with a real Floyd Rose bridge that feels great to play, with finished frets that don't cut your hand while playing: https://www.thomann.de/de/harley_benton_fusion_iii_hh_fr_eb_fbb.htm

    Sure, the pickups won't sounds the best but they do the job. The tuners might be crap but they're behind the locking nut anyway. Cheap guitars have come a long way.

    I think it would probably be best to start with a guitar vst, until you get used to the sound. Also you can try using your mouse with your left or right hand to see which one would work better if you got a physical guitar.

    I think that made sense 40 years ago, where electric guitars were much more expensive than today, but nowadays that's a kinda bad advice for a person who just want's to start with electric guitar. With audio interfaces you don't even need an amp anymore, and you can play an electric guitar without an amp anyway, and I think you need picks for any guitar? If you want to play with picks, at least.

    Honestly, some posts here are really confusing for a beginner.

    Just go to one or maybe two bigger music stores, and play all the different guitars in your range, and choose the most comfortable guitar. It's that simple. If you like playing guitar you want to get a better guitar after some time anyway, but no need to search months for your first guitar.

    I'd also suggest the Pacificas or the Squires. The lower-prices Epiphones would also be on my list of possibles - they are often heavily discounted if you are look around enough. You'll usually find some on Gumtree if you want to save even more money, and you might score a practice amp and a few other bits into the bargain.

    The other option is to visit your local second-hand/pawn shop. My first guitar was about thirty quid from such a place. It had some dents, lots of scratches and was not great in terms of quality but it got me going and that was enough to get me hooked.

    EVERYTHING is confusing for a beginner, hence the beginner moniker. we are born ignorant and strive to understand.

    Well, kinda. At first your fingers will hurt, and it takes some time for your muscles to get used to the playing, and for your skin on the fingertips to harden.

    Pain is normal when a young Jedi begins the quest to become one with and access The Guitar Force. Just try not to fall in love with your sister and break your heart. Injury is unavoidable, amputations though not common are reserved for only those trying to dominate that formidable engery and not to ride it like a wave upon the ocean, not feel the flow and push too hard like trying to smash through a door instead of finding the key to unlocking it. The foto below is my fretting hand after just two weeks of playing a badly set up starter guitar in 1972. I however made a full recovery and have been at it now for about 52 years. You'll be fine in the end. Just stick with it and mark my words, you'll be happy you did.

    find a decent local guitarist and ask for suggestions, local used market can yield nice picks if patient and lucky, or you can check sales at Thomann for good deals
