Recording my matriarch into Edison is a huge pain and I'm getting like 1/4th note and sometimes 1/2 Note worth of latency before it actually starts recording.. I have my buffer set at its lowest setting.. I have my matriarch connected via USB.. I dunno if using the breakout cable and going straight midi din into the interface .. I have Edison set on "on Input" so it should record the second I hit play .. it's probably one of the most frustrating things I've delt with while recording.. any idea why this isn't working like it should?

Edison is not a latency compensated plugin. Is there a plugin running on the project that is causing that latency perhaps?

Or mayber you're using FL Studio ASIO instead of ASIO4ALL. The first one consumes less CPU but has more latency, the last one has a larger amout of CPU but latency is way lower. Also, check the buffer size and use only zero latency plugins for tracking on Edison.

This is probably the culprit as the latency is so severe.

I'm not using any plugins other then the midi out plugin and the edison .. the edison is on the channel that I have my matriarch going through and all I do is enable record and hit play .. then there is a delay and continues to record the midi to audio

Does it happen if you don't use Edison to record into and record straight onto a track?

Install REAPER. Get it over with. If external hardware latency compensation is not working, then you have what you are experiencing happen. If you can't fix it, this problem will become intolerable.
