how long do you plan to work with music wheter its your job or your hobby? the undeniable truth that one day everything ends.. for me personally many years i would say my whole life!

Probably my whole life ... as I'm understanding all my processes better, the very act of creating is getting better.

 

Don't know what tomorrow might bring, been doing it on and off for 2 decades already, started little late, had my ups and daws (downs lol), but love doing it, will keep on doing it from that genuine feeling.

My father is 82 years old he still sends me recordings, compositions and his performances on piano and violin. Classical, jazz, bluegrass and folk.

It is not music, it was just never your thing so move along to something else already.

 

Do blips and blops mixed with noise (white, pink, brown, red, etc) count? If so... then the show around here will be on and on and on and on...

Music is my hobby, I do it for myself, not others. I hope to be doing it until I die. If I'm lucky I'll live another 15 years; if I'm unlucky another 20. That's how old I am!

 

I'm already sick of it and have been. Fuck music. It's a lie.

I've been writing songs and playing music since I was a kid. During my adult years, I quit for 15 years – but I've been doing it again for 15 years since then, with no indication that it will ever stop being its own reward for me.

 

As long as I am able to.

 

Until my fingers fall off from excessive fretting or my arthritis knurls my hands into misshappen monstrosities, my lips are eaten by necrotic bacteria and my voice box is used by squirrels to store their nuts for the winter, I will continue to make music until I can no longer physically do so, and surely the music will keep churning out and leaking from my body and soul like water out of a rusty old bucket. I'm already pretty deaf but trudge on through the ice picking tinnitus into my ears not unlike screaming banshies from an apocalyptic nightmare that never ends.

I cannot and will not stop.

 

When it comes to music, I don't plan, I just do it. The question of how long doesn't arise for me.

 

Hopefully until my age and health will allow. I'm fifty now, and I discovered how moving music is at the age of 13. I picked up the guitar at age 19 (yeah, old for music, I know, but I've never been that talented anyway). I'd been in music on an off until I lost my marriage. That's when I decided my only constant in life was music. I haven't stopped since 2004. I've added my faith in God to my constants, and I guess I can't be happier now.
