I think Munchausen's syndrome is quite common. In a world in which many people can no longer keep up, an illness is a loophole in which they feel protected. Nowadays, people who would previously have been described as loners (like me) - and therefore normal - are classified as being on the autism spectrum.
It is also significant that the psychiatric "disorders" - if they are any - are ever increasing. DSM-I: 106 --> DSM-5: 374

I knew someone would reply this.
30 years ago, in my country, professor did not hit students. But anyways. I understand your point and you are right. That said, there is still some kind of tendency to find an identity through " I am autistic you know" nowadays.
I obviously don't say it's KUSHSMOKERLIT case but it exist.
Last but not least, and to follow your scientific argument, this could be only discussed with specialists and I wonder what's a person's point in posting here about his autistic condition...

In the last years, I've experienced this a dozen of times. People call themselves autistic (...spectrum) - even though they are not diagnosed with it.

IMHO they've seen too much films, TV shows etc. (Rain man, Bones, The good doctor...) or read a few superficial explanations in those who-knows-what forums on the Internet.
And that leads to a false reverse conclusion: Because there are some autistic people with insular talents, some of them also highly gifted, they think that every autistic spectrum person would be highly gifted.
And that's what they think makes them interesting and excuses inappropriate behavior or linguistic incompetence.

There are still people who simply behave badly or are stupid without it being a medical disorder.

Of course, the above does not refer to people who are present here

Lol I agree 100%. Funny anecdote: My sister and I were diagnosed with autism. The diagnostic process is weird, imho. And we don't feel autistic at all. It only really comes up when we congratulate each other on now being officially disabled. But hey, now that you've mentioned the spectrum, yes, there is a spectrum. You lying there, think about specific things as instructed, and while you are lying there with your mouth open and you feel damn stupid doing it, something is measured in your brain, and at some point the doctor comes in: Here's your score, you are here in the spectrum of autism, blah, blah, congratulations, you're autistic. Aha. Good to know. And now please tell me a better joke, doctor.

Edit: To be honest, I suspect that if everyone got tested for autism, 70% would come out with a positive result. Just my guess. Simply because the spectrum is so broad.

Agree, is like the world upside down. I also don't believe in diagnostics more than references, but not as destinys, or extrict guides for life.
And I also misstrust western medicine at some point, at all this wave of making people ill, to give them a pill for the rest of their lives, without a reason. So I can understand what you are talking about. The big theme of people using false diagnosis to fuck around, manipulate etc is there too.

True. That's the magic of this forum. Anything can happen! I know @KUSHSMOKERLIT has been near to be banned-hated here a couple of times. But read his naturality softens me. Maybe I am wrong and is gonna be a troll ,but maybe if we give him our best, he is gonna surprise us for the better. It is your paper as moderator to decide. I just wanted to give him some space here. We'll see

25+ years ago I asked a professor about Educational Discounts and the small developers who did not offer them. He wrote down on this tiny little scrap of paper http://mp3soft.da.ru. Best educational discount ever.

As a only a mod ( I'm not the admin here) I follow the policy of the site, and as you can see, he is free to post what ever.
As a member and a musician and a compositor ( and a family man) , I don't have enough time to do all the ideas I have, so I don't have time for the sort of content he is posting. I also wonder how people find time to spend so much online and to do music. That s maybe because I'm not so talented so I have to work very hard to do something that reach the professional level...

True but not limited to this forum.
I've met people on the internet and in person who don't dare to go out on the street or among people. I'm thinking, for example, of severely disabled people who say others can't stand their sight, or another one who said that when he eats in a restaurant, other guests leave the room because he can't eat normally due to his disability.
We can now talk to these people. And once you've gotten to know them closely enough and as likeable, it's no longer a problem to overlook their weaknesses in real life.
These are really the good things about the Internet.
We all know the bad ones.

The most obvious example here is Foster, but you should probably already know that many of the troll accounts are generated by the same people, repeatedly. Everyone being on VPN does not make them easy to identify i'm sure; but you can still spot many of them via their own literary devices. They are pretty easy to spot. Many of them are very transparent because the posts always follow some same theme or direction. Apple and Microsoft spyware from NSA conspiracies, etc etc. Some are funny.

A majority of the users on this site do not use hardware to make music. They use computers, and only computers. They do not need to "go into the studio" because the studio is virtual and it is their DAW. I think it's funny when sometimes you see EDM producers "head back to the studio" to make new music as part of the release marketing. Uh, what studio? Guys make their tracks in their DAW, maybe do their own mixing, and maybe send it off for mastering. If even that. No gear involved but computer and monitoring equipment.

Of the people making music of those same styles, but with hardware; most of the instruments are MIDI. The Midi data is recorded into the DAW by playing it, but then it is edited and modified more with automation and then recorded in with the DAW functioning as a Midi sequencer. If using analog synths, most are still Midi now, unless they are Modular/Eurorack. The majority portion of those analog synths are all new enough to have MIDI because most people cannot afford CV controlled old synths due to prices of vintage synths.

Most of the time spent creating and mixing computer based music is Listening. I can't even count the number of times I have heard producers at the mixing stage of tracks make comments about it. Working and not even liking the track they are working on anymore, because of how much they have listened to it during the mix stages. That entire time, the producer is effectively "chained to the computer". Instead of taking your DAW computer offline, someday try putting your phone on airplane mode and see how much free time you have all of a sudden. If rendering and bouncing locks up the DAW computer, get one with 2 cpus. :)

Yeah,This could be a paradox but I think this theme is interesting enough to create a thread, to know where are the rabbit holes of the music creation

Gone are the days of Jimi Hendrix getting out of the Army and making enough money with nothing but a used guitar. Maybe you can learn how to rap, but without money; I'm not sure what else they even rap about now.
