i and many people here used to get mad when a certain software wasn't released by team R2R my advice is save , get a job , do something to buy the plugins / software you really want , you could be all your life waiting and a release wont happen , on the other hand if you live in a really poor country i feel sorry for you some software is worth buying , imagine what you could create if you had those plugins believe me being a good producer , singer is very important but having quality tools to unleash your potential is also important i know a wave of hate will come with this thread but i don't care i think i just spoke some truth i know sister site has or had a lot of good tools but you won't find the best in sister site or anywhere on the net no matter if you go to certain foreign trackers i can't mention if you really love making music and it is your passion like it is for me invest some cash on it i'm sure you wont regret it

developers are mad. for example 225$ for TBTECH compressor. That's crazy. Music industry is not profitable as prices are ( that's not profitable for 99% of musicians lol )

Tldr: Make money to be able to buy good software as opposed to complaining about things not being released.

I get you're coming from a good place, but your post is nothing new and is already the widely accepted sentiment here and on the sister site. Not hating, just think you're preaching to the absolute minority. Maybe that's because you were part of that group.

People can complain and people can be grateful for what's been released. That's their freedom and they have the right to feel however they want, and express it however they want. I don't think their complaints sway what R2R and other teams do.

I think the reality of the situation is most people just want to try before they buy or avoid junk. Or as you've said they're from a country where they really can't afford it (those people are not the ones complaining imo). I've never bitched and moaned about software getting released because I know it's wasted breath.

Of course there's software I want to try that will probably never be released but I'm not gonna have a meltdown on an audio forum about it or be hostile towards the providers or others.

If it was the best compressor plugin ever made and could replace all compressors I use or have used, $225 is not an unreasonable price. Chances are it's not though haha. It will probably be on sale for $100-$150 a year or two from now.

Seriously, you guys are spoilt. The teams owe you nothing. You don't need any of the releases to make music.
It may sound like a boomer argument, but let's be honest...
When I started making music I had no internet, no DAW, no plugins, no hardware other than an old computer and an SM57. I recorded my tracks in Nero Burning Rom, compensated the latency by hand and mixed with the internal tools. That's how I recorded 3 demo tapes. I worked alongside school and saved up money to buy my first DAW: Adobe Audition. The same goes for my first plugins, the Waves Renaissance Bundle and my first mixer. My first hardware compressor? A simple circuit with a light bulb that I built on a circuit board from a children's physics kit.
Don't be greedy. Be a little humble. Be grateful for what you have and what you have been given. If you're missing something, get creative. You're blessed and don't even realise it.

I'm sorry to hear that. Unfortunately, we can't choose the circumstances we are born into.
But we can change the circumstances in which we live.

For example, you could relatively easily increase your annual income by around 100,000 to 2,000,000 ARS (or even more) just by giving people something they need and accepting donations via paypal. Learn to code. Or document things in your country that might interest people around the world, write a blog or... do whatever. Just do something? It's a nice little side income.

But whining about how poor one is has rarely helped anyone.

I didn't know we were doing story time, I thought this was about software releases. Well, here goes:

I played violin and trumpet (poorly) until about the age of 12 when got my first guitar. No recording equipment at all until I got an iPad mini and could use GarageBand (age 14).

Didn't touch a real DAW (other than in passing) until I was 19 and got my first dual core MacBook to record on. Started using only what was built into Logic and made some very average recordings. Was too high all the time to actually learn my DAW properly but still tried.

Ended up studying Audio Engineering in Tennessee and was playing as a session guitarist for friends on class projects and accompanying singers in the university commercial voice program. I wasn't amazing but I was tight. I also played in 2 bands (one of which was good).

Did nothing but record in my free time using Logic, a midi keyboard, and a $200 roland interface. Tried out different genres with varying success (I have about 500 projects, maybe 80 are decent). All done on that laptop.

After class one day I ripped something at the top of my shoulder bench pressing and had no idea what happened. Got progressively worse over the next 2 weeks until lifting my arm was extremely painful.

Saw a doctor in Tennessee who told me I needed surgery. Told me I had impingement and he would clear up space in the joint. I was hoping this would get me back to playing guitar and exercising. He ended up botching the surgery and caused permanent iatrogenic instability of the AC joint and persistent, untreatable scapulothoracic dyskinesia.

Progressively became harder to play guitar and record due to pain and I slowly started to lose the ability to use my arm. Almost in tears trying to hand write in class. Saw a bunch of local surgeons who has no idea what was wrong.

Had to drop out of college and return home. Still could use my arm about 50% at this point. Still trying to record constantly but it hurt. Shoulder got worse and I ended up having to quit 3 jobs (1 was actually good and related to audio), and had to permanently stop playing guitar in 2018.

Left the country to meet with a shoulder specialist to try to salvage my shoulder and reconstruct the missing ligaments he found. I couldn't afford it because it was out of country.

Came home, different surgeon attempted repair, it failed. Surgeon attempted another repair. It failed again.

Now I can only use one of my arms and had to throw away 10+ years of guitar. I can still mix and master fortunately. All I have left is recordings.

I'm not spoiled. I'm not greedy. I am
grateful for what I have left.

I am not blessed because teams crack software and generously provide it to the community. I am appreciative of it though. The release keep me interested in audio. It's not as simple as "we're so lucky because audio technology is better nowadays".

Fuck which plugins/hardware people have (or had), I say make music while you still can.

I made recordings for years in the 80s with a Tascam PortaStudio and 2 SM57s. You always want more crap no matter what you have but you always can do something with what you have.

    Remember what Adrian Belew says:

Which all due respect, that's survivorship bias. Vast majority of the people can't change the circumstances in which they live no matter how hard they try. In fact, people that are struggling usually tried everything to get out of those circumstances and failed miserably making the hole bigger than before. Please don't patronize struggling people, even if you were struggling in the past and somehow got through, cause luck is the main factor in play here and good luck is scarce. There are extensive social and statistical researchs on the subject, I'm not getting this out of my ass.

This depends on the country you born / live. The american dream is about this. But lately the dream has come the nightmare on some aspects. The reallity is if you born on a poor country 99% chances you stay poor. Is the poverty trump, there are a lot of studies about that. And the same for people, if you born on a poor family, 99% you stay poor. Is not a victim attitude, is the stadistical empirical data.
But anyways, dont give up, sucess is a mix of things. But work / save / invest should be good advices on financial education in general.

On the other hand I think people with money, they don't through the cash over the window, they are rich because they don't spend the money in dumb things. So in this particular case of music, no matter the fu***n money. You have free / warez tools enough for 1000 lives. So stop selfpitting and start producing your shit. And no matter getting money as a result of your work, but first you have to create, and "madness" in the genius sense is necessary as a kind of obsession and compromise with your work to be done. Getting in the mood, enjoy the process, learn your tools, that's more necesary than money.

As a double fucked up poor who lives in a poor country, I agree that 90% of success depends on luck.
