Hello, so I have been using UVR 5 with some success. It does a pretty good job but looking for something that's a bit cleaner than this. I've seen people talking about Rip X I tried this and it was pretty terrible. Some of the random online ones I tried work better than UVR in certain situations I tried LALAL.ai and it worked pretty well for a certain track. I think I saw somebody on here say that there was something better than UVR but you had to pay and it was expensive or something. Any suggestions?

Man, RipX has beat the pants off of UVR5 on some tracks that I've done. And then UVR5 has been more successful on others. As of this moment in the ever-improving process, I don't think there's a single stem program that is going to do it all. We're not there just yet.

If youre not overly precious about getting crystal clear results, Serato Sample does a pretty decent job depending on the material. It's also significantly faster.

really, i might try it again. I agree though its kind of random maybe you just have to try a bunch of different ones for every song and see which one sounds the best

Virtual DJ has pretty good stem separation that's fairly natural sounding, though not always 100% clean. However, does mean playing everything through and recording as needed, which can be time consuming if you want to stem out full whole tracks. Useful for quick acapella clips though, and as a bonus it can all be done in the free Virtual DJ too!

If you prepare a track for stem separation, Virtual DJ saves a file named xxx.xxx.vdjstems which is just a 10 channel (5 stereo stems) aac file. Rename it to .mp4 and you can open it in Adobe Audition for example. Reaper only recognizes 2 channels, but Audition works.
