I listen to a lot of different music, but my wheelhouse definitely is thrash music, as well as some electronic music, and I hate pop.

Lately though, I've started to listen to a lot of Radiohead, which I never really did before (other than their really big obvious hits like Creep and Street Spirit)... not because I assumed they were pop, I just never really listened to to them very much. I became moderately obsessed though after watching a video of someone breaking down Pyramid Song. They definitely write some pretty interesting music and I definitely get why a lot of people love them. I definitely am playing catch up here, though.

I almost should have my own "reaction video" channel as I check more of their songs out haha

yeah their arrangements can be pretty imaginative for rock, they have a really good sense for rhythm and textures instrumentally and experiment with them well - the only thing that stops me from loving them, is Thom can be so fucking whiny with his singing, paired with his voice; it can get obnoxious. i always check them out though, Thom and the lead guitarist Johnny just released an album under their new group The Smile, its solid

in rainbows slaps tho if you havent listened yet

Looks like i'm going to be pretty busy.. going through the various Radiohead albums, and then also The Smile (thanks for that suggestion!).

I agree that while Thom's voice can be great on some tracks, the tone can be annoying at times (perhaps a bit too "emo".. or whiney, as you said).

Fingers Crossed from 2016 by Ian Hunter is an absolutely fabulous album, every song great, the band tight. Dandy is written for David Bowie who was his close friend and who very sadly passed that year and Incidentally, if you didn't know, wrote All The Young Dudes and played the saxophone on the song.
