Hey guys! I'm just curious about something. How many professionals (that you know of) use cracked Kontakt libraries (CineSamples, Project SAM, etc) for their commercial releases? I've always been curious.

Really, someone please explain the threads we have floating around here and on the net where pros get caught red-handed. For example SoundMorph came by AudioZ to ask us to take down their release yet on one of their tutorials a member with some good eyes spotted something:

Due to the vanishing budgets, and every tom dick and harry doing what the so called pro's do they are forced to use cracks. The money just isn't in the business like it used to be.

 

Before they are "Pros" I'm sure a LOT of them did! Once they are on the map and making some real $$$ it's really easier to BUY your shit than chase it down on warez sites! ;)

I remember that in a German pro audio magazine two years ago, they showed a technique using cracked Ohmforce plugins.
Pretty similar to that SoundMorph thing. Looking at the picture reminded me of that. At least they apologized, saying it was
only a free engineer who works or worked for them from time to time...

I won't even get into how many 6 figure making DJs and popular producers are doing the same thing...

 

I'm sure plenty of them do and frequent this site. Everyone who buys libraries has had the experience of paying good money to find out the library sucks. Only makes sense to audition it first and I'm sure some don't bother paying even if they like it.

In my country, it's 100% legal to use cracked software if you have purchased the software before, e.g. you're not limited to use the legit version, if it's too 'protected' *yes* .
So I'd say, nothing wrong with using K'ed stuff in pro environment if a licence has been purchased.

BTW, you're purchasing permission to use it, therefore even in other countries, this should and probably is allowed. Typical exaple - Kontakt.
Legit version is so crippled with Service Center and online activation. So I'd buy a licence for 300€ and then use both legit and R2R in pro environment, can't see a problem with that. *yes*

Didnt one of the guys who did video tutorials for Waves have cracked software in his download folder or something like that. I remember seeing the video, and someone made a post about it a few years ago. So Waves were suing people, but were employing people that used cracked software.

I know a few reasonably well known dance producers that use cracked software. Unless you're getting in the charts and are really in the spotlight, then you'll find a lot of producers with cracked stuff.

Well that really suck what if all good rockers that REALLY play music stole their guitars - basses - organs - synths - amps - drumsets and mics that cost alot more than a shitty vsti?
That they use with a mouse in a pianoroll window and NEVER ever play LIVE for real
