This Stylus RMX, deserves a final cracked version to the last update.

 

People who have it. How is it like?

 

It´s good

 

It's fun, but never used it really, then I sold it just two weeks ago. I feel sad for the buyer (I could not imagine it would become a legacy product two weeks later...). Hopefully they'll introduce something new... "Drumosphere" or smth, like they did for omnisphere at the time (Omnisphere is a sort of evolution of an older plugin called Atmosphere).

Stylus has its own thing. It was very advanced when it was released and the regularly updated editing features were very useful.
Like anything, even in real life while sometimes sad and true, objects and people get superseded in the name of advancement.

EDIT: - It's a shame really, because there are some legendary artistes who Spectrasonics used to create some really great loops and patterns. You won't find some of them elsewhere unless there are sample dumps done , and for some of the libraries, that's a LOT of work.

There are many things in life that would be great to happen, but probably won't happen because the time and expense don't make it worthwhile. It is not contradictory to say Stylus for STEAM would be great while still feeling it's not necessarily a good idea for Spectrasonics as a company. We shall see.

 

I agree mostly. The ability to edit and combine on the fly - dragging into your DAW is commonplace now, but there are definitely some things that you do not see in an all-in-one i.e. many have more advanced features but not everything Stylus has. I do believe it is because they are going to release a new product as you suggested earlier.

 

There aren't any new concepts I can think of immediately off the top of my head, other than one improvement where each sample could be assigned to MIDI notes and you can play them (standard in other apps), rather than the existing built-in MIDI drag 'n drop.

As for concepts - maybe another thread for this might be a good idea?

 

Let’s hope the new one has a recycle type feature built into it too. For actually making Rex files out of own breaks. That would be cool.

Stylus RMX is one of those products that if you asked my opinion on it I'd tell you it's excellent but if you asked me how often I use it I'd say almost never! Go figure.

 

Same. It's excellent when you need it.

 

Yet still, there isn´t replacement for Time Designer® and Chaos Designer® by other companies.
I really hope there is a new major update coming up....
