I doubt very much it will be a free download.
Best thing would be an upgrade but Im not sure thats the case unfortunately.

I have owned it since nearly 20 years now, so now Im kinda f**_ed up... I guess They didnt even send me a mail (Spectrasonics) I found this by accident on the net.

 

not that it would make noticeable difference from non-legacy product,
sometimes when I see spectrasonics website, I can't even tell if it's dead or not xD

 

Hell, Omnisphere might as well be considered a legacy product too, they havent done a major update in like 6 years at this point. lol. They've been happily coasting along off their momentum for wayyy too long and i say that as someone who's been using Omnisphere constantly since 2011.

 

this attitude happens a lot, its like they get some excelent point that they dont need to do nothing else, cause verything works, the money keeps coming and so.. :c
at least theyre not like arturia, they have this horrible attitude to left at half way their products or updates better said.. or do shitty tutorials in 144p quality video, or like everyone ( and spectrasonics now ) sell u the "newer" version which only has a new GUI or VST3 compatibility.

 

Stylus RMX is the oldest product in their current line - 20 years old this winter, I guess Spectrasonics are showing a new product on NAMM, the new drum plugin will take over the old Stylus library, the same they did with Atmosphere and Omnisphere or Trilian and Trilogy

Stylus RMX is probably the funnest music program I have used. It's simple enough that friends of mine that would come over could make decent sounding beats with like 5 minutes of telling them how it worked.
Yet, it's also complex enough that there is still a fair amount that it can do that I don't even know about.

Are there any other plug-ins out there like it? I'm sure there must be, but I haven't found any. I am pretty damn dumb though in all honesty.

Not updating needlessly can be a feature, not a bug. As long as everything keeps working with new DAWs and OSs. I love Stylus, have been an owner for close to 20 years but damn, authorizing Spectrasonics is such a freakin bitch.

 

All the stuff has been getting updates (maybe not "majors") up to recently. SS seems to have a wack view on updating in that bunches of tiny little updates seems to equal bigger ones...

 

Agree. Are you saying legit authorizing is worst than warez? Or is an inside joke?

 

I'm saying that even as a legit owner warez can file off the rough edges of the user experience

 

WEll, anyways, we have it cracked, so that's not a big loss, but the best would have been a good update.
