I use keyboard that have additional 5 macro keys so I assign it to them. I think modern gaming mouse/keyboard have macro button.

 

Voice command? Maybe mouse gesture?

 

What's there to improve on? Serious question.

Windows/desktop: In most browsers and editors you can simply mark the text and drag and drop it into another program or place. If the program is not visible at the time, drag the text over the program's icon in the taskbar and wait ~300ms.

 

You are correct. My gaming mouse has 12 assignable macro buttons. Very quick to copy and paste.

 

Buy a special keyboard

 

Get a two button usb keyboard built exactly for this. Just search on google. It has only two buttons. One for copy and one for paste.

When I need it I use extra mouse buttons for this, profiles and all that. My Lenovo M300 has two extra buttons per side, and one on top.

Also handy for DAW shortcuts when I'm editing. Worth a try I suppose.

There are dozens of USB devices useful for simplifying repetitive jobs: starting with the multi buttons mouse, to the Elgato streamdeck, You can also use a midi controller like launchpad in conjunction with app like autokey. During my video editor career, i used a lot the Contour Design ShuttlePRO: It is nice: every button is customizable

Use the Del key. It's 3 quicker than the Delete key.
