Well kind of if you can't see or touch the hardware, and it's operated with a mouse just like an amp-sim :winker:

What about for bass tone? My favorite that I have found is the 100 watt head in Peavey Revalver.

You may be right, I've just never come across any mention of it.

to me, the best sounding is acustica Aero. Its crazy how good it sounds. its VERY cpu intensive, even for acustica, and has little tweakability, but it sounds so good its stupid. it sounds great on synths too. Puts them in a space in an interesting way.

I also love the cory wong, and some amplitube. Orange and fender suites mainly.

Neural Plini X. (I'm looking forward to Nolly becoming X)

    And a short length IR.
It used to be 200 to 300 ms, now it is around 30 ms.

I tend to use those NeuralDSP plugins Cory Wong or sometimes the Plini. I don't play too much electric anymore but do play a couple of hours a day on acoustic as a norm. I do have a Strymon Iridium that is my amp sim of choice behind my pedals because it sounds and feels more authentic to me than purely software for some reason.

NAM with a toneking, or roland jc120 or VOX capture and some decent IR or.... Biax FX2. I pretty much hate the interface, and the lack of scaling, but it's the only program with the ability to load any youtube video and play along while displaying chords.

The best one for me is Tonehub. Some profiles are sitting in the mix just right without tweaking.
For bass i use svt suite from line 6, i bypass the cab section and load torpedo wall of sound, my favorite cab is ashdown ABM 810H
also i layer it with an extra track and i use marshall 2203 by softube (using the same ir as before) for some extra presence and clankyness

Scuffam S-Gear. After searching for the most versatile amp sim, i found S-gear. But I never expected the thing's output will triumph beyond every amp sim I've tried, 100s of them. The guy was a former amp designer in Marshall. And now it will blow you away. And for the metalhead and dgent, you can find an clean amp with lotsa headroom and then add the metal effects that accordingly. And uploading own IRs means it can get into brutal territory and amp sims targeted for metal. And it's one of the cheapest amp sims available. YOU MUST HAVE IT.

Still Waves GTR3 for me. I've bought S-Gear, Bassdude, Chandler GAV19T, Fuse Audio F-59 and SKnote's Deluxe1 and TwinR but always end up using GTR3.
