Agreed. The position of the headphones on your head makes or breaks the treble. I found a position that completely brought the treble back to life, but unfortunately that position was not very comfortable on my head. Had to return them.

II use the Beyerdynamic DT-880 pro with a subpac. One of these days I might try the Audeze. That’s a lot of cheese tho!! lol

that depends on:

1 - what are you planning to do with the headphones (mix? record?)

2 - whats the audio interface you're using and whats its ideal output for headphone impedance

3 - your budget

All things considered I wouldn't lost my marbles trying to choose the perfect headphone because I'm sure you don't have illimited budget and there's a bunch of good correction software out there (like Sonarworks) to further improve on your monitoring.

 

I had the hd600 before Audeze lcdx and I can tell you that the audeze are so so much better that you won’t believe until you try them…main problem for me it is how heavy they are after a while…Also I’ve tried the audio technica adx 5000 and they blew my mind,I can say they are the best cans I ever tried….2000€ though

 

Audeze LCD-GX - a close relative and almost 200 g lighter than the LCD-X.
