You guys really think something isn´t cracked because it isn´t released?? Have you ever read nfos? Like the numbers or the tag "internal"?
iLOk is beaten awhile back, still it doesn´t mean someone hasn´t supplied all the software. It´s simple game, you have to give something to get some

Why are we even having this discussion? There are plenty of iLok releases on sister site. Softube, Nembrini...comes to mind. Others might know more companies using iLok whose stuff is on sister site.

You need Crossgridder, Parallels Desktop, a Windows ISO image like Oprekin, and maybe 2 more apps. Then you can run *almost* anything the PC users can directly in Logic. :)

Someone crying because they didn't get what they want for Christmas?

Can't expect a wave every year. R2R have given no hint of one.

I wonder which are these so unique plugins... But anyways, this cannot become a request thread, so I will never know.
On my side, there is no plugin that is irreplaceable. There are so many of them nowadays...

I have roughly 150 active licenses on Ilok, and I may be an exception to the norm, but I actually prefer Ilok over all other security measures. The only exception for me would be the way Applied Acoustic Systems does things, one installer/license for everything. But as far as Ilok goes, its never given me any issues. No dongles or weird activation protocols to remember. I just install my software and it works.

I know some security measures affect performance for certain software. I dont own or use Acustica plugins but having read the thread here about how they've wrapped their plugins around gigs worth of security is ridiculous to me. I understand developers have to secure their software in some way, which I'm totally fine with, and I'm happy to support the developer so long as security doesn't get in the way of me making music.

agreed. i think the main target for a lot of us is to watch another acustica audio type of meltdown from developers, so they stop with their bs

Got close to as many as you, but I gave in and got the dongle earlier this year when I got my new Mac. Didn't want to bother with chasing around machine authorizations anymore so I said screw it and threw everything on the dongle. So far so good, and thanks to getting it I can use all the new cheap UAD stuff, and I don't have my MIDI Quest license tied to iLok Cloud anymore.

Unfortunately, it seems it runs very poorly on my machine with CrossOver. I wish I knew a way to optimise it.

I have to say though I've managed to make CrossGridder quite seamless. I have an automatic shortcut which asks me to launch CrossGridder when I launch my DAW and then I also saved loaded plugins as presets and I can just select any preset and load anything easily.
Still, feels very clunky, but better than what it was before.

before anyone starts crying & whining, because you're "missing", some special iloked app that hasn't been pwned yet, remember one thing......that the teams don't owe you anything and they could all go internal for whatever reason.
So just be grateful, happy & enjoy the ride.

Well, you both are supporting invasive protections.
That's not a responsible attitude as a consumer.

Yes, a lot of ilok plugins have been cracked here and I'm sure we're all (or at least the majority of us) grateful for that.

However, I don't think one can say at this point that ilok has been defeated - by whichever team. After all, there is still ilok protected software that has not yet been cracked.

As soon as a new version of a software is released, it has to be cracked again. This is tedious.

I would call it a defeat of ilok if there were a procedure similar to the cracks of Steinberg and UVI software.
There, the protection infrastructure is replaced by a cracked version. In these cases all similarly protected software works and only the crack of the protection infrastructure has to be changed regularly.

I don't know whether it is feasible with ilok in this form, but that would be the most elegant way imho.

This is true. But another thing to remember is that none of these "special plugins" are changing physics. If anything, they are typically inventing issues that only they can fix. Whatever you think you need to do, can always be done another way. Some plugins are better than others, but no plugin is irreplaceable. They certainly will tell you they are in their marketing, but they are basically just trying to sell you more sh*t.

Getting around paying for something by outsmarting a protection may be pretty fun; but not depending on stuff you don't even need is way better.

Unfortunately, most virtualization options are never something the end user can really optimize.
And they are always dependent on the physical hardware, and sometimes not even just 1:1 ratio because they are running something they were not designed to work with. Most current Macs aren't even upgradeable, so your options are pretty limited there. But the best answer will be some physical one, or a dual-boot scenario. Also, I am using Wavelab as my wave editor. You can effects process the file and bring it right back into Logic. :)

It seems to me that your request sounds like a demand, although I'm not saying it's your intention. The fact that you say, 'We need people to do this,' could have been phrased differently, for example, 'Is anyone interested in forming a team for... etc.' Even though there are things not allowed in the forum, you could also do it privately. Beyond all this, I always see this in many people—they are insatiable. It seems like nothing is enough for them. I don't know the number of VST, VSTI, and programs that teams have released. As I said the other day, with that, you can make music for 100 years, but they want more and more. The worst part is that they complain as if they are paying for something or someone owes them something.

That said, what Oly says about if everyone stops using 'x' thing, it will disappear seems utopian to me. Of course, in our utopia, that is valid and also as an idealistic concept, but reality is not like that. For example, I would like society to stop being on the phone all day and enjoy life more. 'And if we all put our phones aside for a bit someday...' but that is utopian, although it may sound beautiful and idealistic in my mind.

In my point of view, and as it always has been, this will happen naturally. There will be more rigidity in the security of VSTs, and teams or new teams will decipher things. That's how it always happened, and I suppose it will continue to happen. In my understanding, there's no need to ask for it. I believe teams emerge on their own, not because someone demands it. In other words, a group of people with a common goal comes together and does it. I haven't known VST teams, but I have known other teams that dedicated themselves to doing other things with the sole purpose of helping people without anyone asking them
