for me, it was the AU version in Logic. That plugin was more useful to me than the others. thank you, bx_control2 is a good substitute for it. it has identical functions that I would use in StereoTool if I had it. monomaker quickly to 100hz, maybe some small amount of widening, and you can cheat between clip gain and it's input gain to get the cs fader back to unity in one print. it's not something you can easily screw up, so you can even get rid of the plugin instance as soon as you bounce it.

Apart from the usual suspects (fabfilter, valhalla et al.):

    Strip for tracking/preliminary processing:
    • bx_Amek9099

    Dynamics:
    • I'm quite liking Overloud's Comp76 for those FET needs
    • bx_townhouse/SSL bus compressor for some quick glue
    • I used to like both Gem Comp670 and Pulsar Mu, but I think AA's Ultramarine is going to become my main coloring compressor from now on
    • V-clip is nice for a quick, not overthinking clipper
    • TDR Limiter 6 when it's time for overthinking

    EQ:
    • TDR slick M/Pulsar Massive for some broad, finishing EQ

    Others:
    • Arturia's BRIGADE on lead guitars/Korneff's Echoleffe whenever I need some characterful delay
    • Softube's tape. though I've been testing Fuse Audio's flywheel and I'm pretty convinced with the results
    • I love the way AudioThing Valves saturates/distorts most materials

    Instruments:

Decent Sampler (I use lots of free libraries)
    Sforzando
    ZebraCM

    Effects:

Tokyo Dawn Slick EQ GE (on channels mostly)
Khs Limiter (I use this at the very end of my output bus during composing and pre-mixing)
    GSat+ (for general saturation purposes)
Peakeater / FreeClip (saturation and clipping)
    Klanghelm DC8C
Convology XT (I mostly use convolution for reverb, using real spaces or plate and spring IRs)
Toneboosters BitJuggler (If I want that gritty 90s SP-1200 sound)
GSI Varispeed (free tape echo that sounds better than Softube Tape Echoes)

I don't really ever feel FOMO from plugins with bold claims behind them very much nowadays but I do kind of have that feeling for this one. Just can't bring myself to pony up the cash for it without being able to try it first tho
