AA stuff is the beef!

 

Nebula, Ash, Taipei, Brighton

 

Nebula was really ground breaking at the time.
Because it was the only solution to make YOUR OWN profiles and share/sell.
So ppl like Olonga, AlexB, CDSoundMaster, TimP, Cupwise ... could push their own captures.

All others dynamic/volterra... solutions were proprietary locked, as far as i remember.

Nebula still my fav for that reason : community of ppl sharing their beloved hardware captures.
Even if dynamic (compression, limiter ...) was always a weak point, saturation, reverb,EQ ... were already ground breaking at first release v1.

 

Reverb is insanely good. It's just, real. Cupwise Echo Chambers, TimP Grand etc. etc.

 

I buy a lot of AA plugin.
But i just use 2 plug.
I use purple and el rey 2 Who is the best eq and comp i have never use ( and i have waves , fabfilter, uad , slate.. )
I cant use them in session. I just use them on master .too much cpu Alain.. and i have very good computer

Useless for anything other than archival purposes which the dev has floundered with user-unfriendly DRM.

Not many, especially not the old ones.

The newer stuff has that ability though, like Gold5 for example (i think? i haven't tried them all), and a few others. But i remember Gold4 would really fuck the sound with some weird artifacts when you pushed it too hard for example.

Try out anything released in 2023 and beyond and it'll probably have the ability to be driven hard. Personally i go for algo plugins for that though

 

The Neve ‘Blue 1102 V2’ from Tim Petherick has specific ‘Distort’ module. It’s the only one I know of that has that.

yeah I agree cause softube, STL Tones avid and UAD are jerks to their customers..condescending, disrespectful..I can not verify with UAD but for sure AVID and softube are the snobs of snobs.,

DO people have presets and NEBULA advise for anyone interested in obtaining profiles of gear like STL Control Hub or Tonnex?

i tried capturing my nebula presets with Control hub, and it didnt quite get it right. I tried many times, with many different settings, and every time it fell short. I think Control hub has potential but isnt quite there yet. Give it another year or two maybe.

 

So..i got a huge set of offline files, how can i go about using nebula on a m1 mac sonoma?

 

I tested all releases, anda only for my test and Workflow i decide to keep with:

Jam
Ash
Salt
Lava

And i wanna try those fire series, and purple.
