Many mastering engineers talk about Schumanns Resonance. Just because you can't hear it doesn't mean it doesn't exist. It's always around us and we need to know how to use it.

Das ist zwar richtig, aber ich hätte ihm trotzdem kein dislike dafür gegeben (vielleicht hat er ja einfach nur die Überschrift nicht richtig gelesen), disagree wäre hier wohl angemessener.

I beg to differ, we are here HomeForums>Regional>DE. DE = Deutsch = German. :winker:

Is Scheißfotze really a word BTW? Always wanted to ask. Feels too specific to actually be a word.

    Oh, also.
Wenn Sie bei 40 Hz mit einer Hochpassfiltersteilheit von 24 dB/Oktave und einem Q von 0,7 schneiden, beginnt die eigentliche Reduzierung bei etwa 60 Hz. Und bei 12 dB/Oktave beginnt es bei etwa 80 Hz. Es kann also sein, dass Sie viel mehr einsparen, als Sie denken.

Yes, you can also say Arschficker. It's also very specific. But usually you would say "scheiß Fotze" instead of "Scheißfotze".

meiner Meinung nach braucht man nichts unter 40 Hz. Warum? Kaum ein System reproduziert Frequenzen unter 40Hz. Und
jeder der hier von fühlen spricht. 40hz -3Db fühlt man mehr als genug. da fühlt man keinen Unterschied ob 30 oder 40 Hz.
35hz ist bei mir immer Schluß.

It depends. Kick and bass under 40 Hz = Yes, if you want to feel the music in your body. SO important for any music that are played in huge high quality PA systems. Like any electronic music...
When you feel those 20 Hz in your body. Mmm.. :)
The subs can be controlled but you wont be able to do it in headphones since you won't hear below 18 Hz, just FEEL it. You cant feel that from headphones. You must mix it in a acousticly treated studio... otherwise you migh over-do the sub.

If you do pop or rock music it wont matter as much. You can cut @ 40-60 Hz with 18 dB/oct HP filter. Beware of phase issues. All non-linear phase EQs/filters will change the phase. So only do a cut in pre-master main out to be safe. Or listen what it does if you do it on bass and kick seperately, chance is that it will change its tone a lot.
    Phase-linear EQ on bass/sub is a no-no, will introduce pre-ringing for sure.

Oh, so it's also two words, like in English. I was under impression that the word "shit" is changed to be a supplementary part of, um, that another word and it was weird to me that, you know, German folk spent their time on figuring that out. But if I get it right, it's a usual grammatic trick in your language?

If you say...Neunhundertneunundneunzigtausendneunhundertneunundneunzig it will blow out your speakers if you don't cut below 40 hz. I learned the hard way. That's why I had to buy my new APS Klassik monitors, the old KRK V6 vers. 2 I had for years speaker cones shredded and the internal amps both simultaneously died. Fucking German language!!!

Du bist eine scheiß Fotze = You are a fucking cunt

As in many other languages, words can be combined to create new words. German is partly based on this concept. But the new words created this way do not always mean the same than the individual words separately.
However, you can turn scheiß Fotze into Scheißfotze. But it's not a grammatical trick, it's just an artificial word that kids throw out to hit harder. The melodic pronunciation is different.
