Tried to itall Serum on my Macbook Pro M3 with Sonoma but the test version I've found always ask me for the presets folder when opening without letting me do anything more.

I select the folder (manually creating it) and seems to not work.

Any help or different version that works? Thanks a lot in advance.

    open terminal and type
    Code:
sudo chmod -R 777 "drag and drop the folder locations "

do it without "" and after 777 space

    sudo chmod -R 777 /Library/Audio/Presets/Xfer\ Records/Serum\ Presets

Why do you have a duplicate library? You don't have a duplicate serum folder?

/Library/Audio/Presets/Xfer Records/Serum Presets. You need to make Serum look at this folder for it's Presets.

Noises and Wavetables go into different folders.

I would user Permissions Reset 2 on the folders. https://ohanaware.com/permissionsreset/. I would also Codesign all of it, if you haven't.

Everything looks right, so that is why Permissions changes were recommended. But it's also a bit of guesswork.

I reseted permissions and codesigned the folder "sudo chmod -R 777 /Library/Audio/" without success.
Attached screenshot of the error I have when selecting Serum Presets folder.

Open the main interface for serum. Go to Menu, do Show Serum Presets Folder. That should open up to the correct place. If not, you need to get it looking at the right folder. After that, go to Menu option right below that one, and do Rescan Folders on Disk.

Or you can click the square icon next to menu to bring up Preset Browser, and there are other options there too, underneath the right side down arrow. You can do Rescan Database, or Erase and Rebuild Database. Those are pretty much your main options to fix it, so start there.

I can load presets normally into Serum FX, but that could be your problem too. You are trying to load full Serum presets with the Serum FX plugin, use an Instrument instance of it instead to check. You could probably do that first.

Mention what release you used. I would also try loading it via Rosetta. Sometimes that fixes dumb problems like authorizations, etc.

Thanks but that is impossible because as soon as I open Serum, I'm prompted with the finder window to search for presets folder. I can't click anywhere

Did you just install this version? Has it worked before? If it is a sister site version, the developer puts some very odd results of its protection.

That worked out timely. They mentioned that they did not patch those releases at all. So no modifications to the binary should stop all the weird behaviors caused by it's protection. I will believe that when I see it. They seem to work for a good while and then develop crazy problems that reinstallation doesn't fix. One is something like moving the cutoff or LFO, and then locks you out.
