can you please recommend youtube channels with decent, good quality pop music for kids and teenagers, ideally including jazz and electronic; something that would help build a good taste, at the same time be interesting for a kid.

UPD: will be fulfilling my own request:

taste is subjective. cant force someone to prefer what you like...
understanding sound quality and a quality mix or master is one thing but taste, comeone... brainwashing is what you're asking for lol

Taste is subjective, to a certain degree, quality is not.

To a certain extent I agree with @Hybridstudios, however taking a child to see or be part of music live in a smaller setting usually influences them to at least respect the art rather even if they don't enjoy it. Even if they don't remember the music itself later on in life they will remember the time you spent with them and if they remember you fondly they will associate the music that way as well.

It also really depends on the age, a five year old will not enjoy the same music as a teenager even if their ability to break your heart remains the same they will change through the years into their own person.

I think the idea behind asking different people is to get different kinds of quality music, so a kid could develop their own taste.

Yeah, we don't have to worry about AI actually overtaking the world. We do have to worry about it trying to tho.

    That’s exactly what I said…
I’m personally open to hearing anything, doesn’t mean I like it but I can hear quality in any genre of music whether or not I like it.

I’ve raised 3 and have 2 of my own. My daughters taste in music is horrible at the moment but I can hear the sound quality of the hardware or mix in some songs while others and compiled of soooo many effects you can’t hear nor feel the depth, image, quality saturation, even panning at times…
My kids understand sound quality more than most bc they live with me and I don’t have avg monitoring. My son walked in the studio Saturday evening and said “ WTH is that”(14 years old) I looked at and said first off what are you doing in hear, 2nd watch your mouth, what would you know. he looks at my tc clarity m and says look at the huge peak at 500 and 1600, you seriously need to cut those or control those areas. I said good observation however this is what was sent and if I can’t request a new mix from the engineer I have to fix it since the label wants the masters by Monday(Christmas today)
He said good luck and that he just wanted to know if he could go play some game in my room on my ps5 bc I have a 85inch tv and an atmos setup in my room. I told him not food or drinks and don’t mess up my controllers. 35/40min late I FaceTimed him and told him to come back to the studio. Played the song calibrated about 77db and he said now that sounds way better. You can hear this and that those huge frequency spikes aren’t there and it even sounds and huge. I said that took less than an hour so if I had a few days I’d sit on this this come back to it with fresh ears I could get it better but I’m confident enough to know that this one will be accepted and released. Sent the producer the master and his only revision was the fade out and wanted a little more low end. I told him it was extremely balanced and he just requested I do a bump on the low end. Kept everything how I had it and simply put the Manley pultec in the chain through the liaison, set it between 1/2 at 60hz and reprinted it. Sent it off and the feedback was leave it alone…

So kids can hear quality, overtones, etc… my son didn’t like the song and personally neither did i, but how does it sound… great even though there were mix issues that the producer and mix engineer didn’t hear bc there room isn’t mine, much higher end converters, and my room sounds really good minus the Trinnov setup.

often in the house I’ll make all the sonus speakers play the same jazz song, or older music I grew up on in he 80s and 90s and they’ll listen to it and often ask why do jodeci, old rkelly songs, prince etc have a specific sound and I told him that’s pure analog and tape and they truly hear it but my son is so into video games and coding now and my daughter is stuck on Asian culture and food.. along with k pop. I can easily help him especially with the audio of the game he wants to make.

Everyone develops their own taste of music differently and over time. Growing up I didn’t care for rock or jazz. Rock now I realized make you a better engineer, jazz is soothing

Hire a good music teacher. A good one. My suggestion is MMJ. He teaches modern music.

Parent can't really do nothing good about teaching its own kid. Kids are meant to riot against fathers, and you are already teaching him all you can, just by being near.

You can't teach him something you don't know, and you should be asking for yourself then, about forming YOUR taste. Otherwise why would you wonder about it? It's YOUR taste underformed, that's why you're here.

Just prepare him to meet the real teacher, and that's it. Don't fucking pester the kid with something you don't even know for yourself.

kids tend to copy what you do. Father is a "hero" figure. I picked up my music interest (camera etc among other things) because I was hanging in my late father's "batcave" whenever he wasn't around. He never once let me in, nor talk about it if he's home or in there, but never locked the door. I understand later, it was all probably intentional. He did all the cool stuff on his own, when I asked he just smile and said it's not for kids but made it available for me to look for it myself. Thousands of vinyls, various vintage cameras and all sort of weird shit (porn magazines too lol) in there. I was playing with it since I was 5-6yo and inherit all the stuff later. He was a good semi-pro footballer too, me and my brother crazy about playing football back in the days, played for state level and stuff. Now thinking about it, we just copied him without realizing it. He never once told me anything about what I should be or do, but rather brought me and my bro to watch him play, went to the stadium for big matches etc. So, maybe do what you do, and maybe create a puzzle in a way for them to look for it themselves and figure it out on their own because I think it is a better way than suggesting them yt channels. Just my two cents.

I'm against music teacher though, it takes away the "cool" factor from it. Kids like cool stuff. Making it becomes a lot like school isn't.

Don't even try. They will find the music that annoys you most and fall in love with it - no matter what you do.

In my opinion, without a teacher, the child becomes just a listener and a follower. There are so many different styles that a child can easily get immersed in them without improving his musical comprehension.

    - that's not really a tasteful music for kids to begin with,

you don't want something overly complex and you don't want sole music as primary entertainment purpose,

good music for kids are good cartoons and movies, and let them build their own taste and change their taste while growing up

ps: and also take them to concerts and theatres, so they'll know the music can be real, played by real people

Welp that’s why it’s your opinion not necessarily a FACT. I never had a teacher yet I’ve produced for major and local artists, own a recording studio facility, own a mastering studio, taught myself everything I know from 13 and it wasn’t bc a music teacher, it was because I wanted a Korg trinity back in like 96, I ended up buying it, learning it, teaching myself to play keys, later bought a triton, motif, fantom, k2600, nords etc
Had the opportunity last year to get a c7 7’4 but the wanted 22k and it didn’t sound better than the Steinway I’d rent and the dampers were noisy and far darker than the Steinway so it’s rent or use vst’s until I find the right one, maybe I won’t.
