has anyone managed to get Dorico 4 from sister site to work?

On 10.14.6 I had no luck with neither Dorico v4.2.0 or v4.1.0

After installation and patching, the application just won't open (something flashes on my screen for like 1 ms and then it's gone).

It says something about disabling SIP in the instruction - I remember to already have done that in the past - but might be that I changed back though. Would this be required only during the installation and patching process and could I disable it afterwards?

Edit: I also didn't install the 9GB content, as I assume that its mainly Halion library sounds which I don't intend to use.

 

For any of the VR releases where you have to disable SIP, (like Cubase etc); you cannot re-enable SIP or they will not work. Read about this in the Cubase release posts.

 

What exactly can you do to get around Disabling sip after you install? There must be some thing? Otherwise these Steinberg products are useless unless you just want to keep sip off all the time and the Internet off.

 

You can partially disable SIP and look into the options you can set using csrutil. I did not post they are useless, or that you need to keep the machine offline even; it's not like you are installing Windows. Those are all choices up to you, but they are your decisions and I am simply not going to write about it. Either figure it out yourself or maybe you shouldn't do it.

They are definitely not useless that’s just my frustration with disabling sip. Thank you for your help.
