I have, if you don't mind. You need to manually set the Latency (below PHASE).

you welcome, thanks. I opened the Bertom in default, without my settings, it would have been better to deactivate the phase graphic, as it was not the main argument for what I wanted to point. Wanted to show the EQ curve with the vinyl filters mostly

I just wanted to add to the discussion another master EQ, very famous and well modelled, that has the same brickwall low pass filter at about 14khz, it's 100% the same as WHITE EQ. So I think we can conclude that it was a typical behaviour for machines workin as mastering EQ for vinyl cutting

the UAD manual is more smart and better explains the whole thing

Obviously we wouldnt use that brickwall LP filter on a master buss now in 2023, and if the record is gonna be on a vinyl better to let to it to specialists. But I have to say that I enjoyed those filters on my "LoFi Buss" many times.

    the Noiseash Motone too :

That or maybe they haven't discovered the technology of making the filter cut more gradual per octave. The Motown EQ is like a clone, a repackage, re-boxed version of the 1st Graphical EQ (Cinema Engineering 7080) ever created at the time considered super expensive for studios. The cool part of it is just the custom tube preamp Motown engineer built for it. Pultec EQ was created after using "cheaper" component as a solution. The WHITE FLT is basically a non existence hardware right ? they just modeled the Preamp & HPF from the WSM Dual Line Preamp, all the bandpasses are just made up stuff right ? see the unit, only, HPF.

    That's a good question.

wOW! yikers... I would hope the real hardware (if it exists) would act differently. If the original hardware was/is being used for vinyl disc cutting it would absolutely NOT be able to introduce those kinds of severe phasing issues.

For anything other than artistic effect on a particular instrument or track in a given production, putting these plugins on a digital stereo master buss for a final mix-down would be counter productive. Vinyl disc cutters cannot handle excessive out of phase information which would seem to make these plugins a bad choice if your end result for a mix is to be pressed to vinyl.

There is absolutely no way that real hardware being used in a vinyl mastering chain could act this way and be useful.

    filter setting.JPG

Phase distortion like this would destroy a cutting heads ability to do it's job... Wherein a High pass setting of 30hz is a nominal setting for a disc cutting session and given the fact that phase distortion in the low end is most detrimental to the cutting process. IF real hardware operated in this manner it would be virtually useless in a vinyl mastering capacity. No real vinyl mastering hardware could do this and be termed legitimate. So these phase distortions must be something introduced in the plugin development process..

    Found this problem with TULIPPRE

If the internal OVS enabled (4x or 8x) the INPUT TRIM will reset to -24db can can't be moved. Can anyone confirm if this is happening on other sample rate ? I can only speak for @ 48kHz and 48kHz with 2X OS. Changing the OVS back to 1X wont fix it either, it seems like it crashed inside upon enabling the OVS and need to be removed and added back.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Another thing I want to ask about PINK4PEQT on default. Not a single thing done, @ 48kHz 2X OS.

I'm not happy :( with the rippling. I love the IK Multimedia version of it so I didnt use the AA nor test it before and today I feel like trying it out (still not liking it for it weird frequency point) and found this. Earlier I saw someone posted on another thread, there's no "T" on the plugin name, presumably it's the full version, but it got none of this bs and curve is smooth and clean.

I confirm the TULIPPRE bug at 44,100 khz

when you change the internal oversampling the input knob resets to minimum, then you cant tweak it anymore (you turn, it moves but comes back at minimum instantly)

    WORKAROUND:
In Cubase i put a "default setting", this way:
-preamp ALREADY ENGAGED, so not on off
    -then internal oversampling on 4x
-saved as default setting and closed that instance

    upload_2023-12-19_9-30-33.png

i opened again the plugin and found it on the expected default settings, then the input knob can be tweaked:
    upload_2023-12-19_9-32-32.png

    BUT:

-if you change the OVS it works
-if you change the preamp from line to CUST or MIC the input trim knob goes again crazy to the minimum
-I am actually UNABLE TO CHANGE the preamp to mic-cust-line even with OVS at 1, and even if I reset to the "original default settings" (which I backup-ed) SHAME!

So it seems likely that I can only use the line preamp......trying to find a solution.
EDIT: had to delete the cubase-created default settings file in VST3 Presets\Acqua\TULIPPRE

So it seems that using this workround you can put a "default setting" for the kind of preamp you need, you can then tweak everything EXCEPT the "defaulted" preamp

ALWAYS BE CAREFUL when doing these tests, those plugin makes very dangerous volume spikes (I keep the muter limiter on the master)

TULIPPRE: looks like plugin trying to load vector files from TULIPT/ directory (when requried files stored in TULIP/ dir), like something i see before. This time i can't find references to this file in other files, maybe it releated to HYPER tech or they are encrypted too.

After directory duplicating (copy TULIP dir as TULIPT) everything works fine anyway

Could not repeat your slider problem with R2R's PINK4PEQT @ 96kHz. All sliders working as they should. :dunno:

What is the purpose of so many pre-amps of each type in Acustica? Can you really hear the difference between Mic 3 and 16?

It’s something that lot of companies do, giving you the sampling of various channels from the same desk.
It’s hard to tell the difference between the various instances, but there are small deviances in eq shape, stereo image, maybe saturation, that actually help in creating a more interesting and articulated sound. It’s small, but there is a difference.

actually, in this case, I would double check if the plug-in is working as intended

This is something strange but common in trials, I remember that only by turning on a band in the ivory stereo eq, something similar happened (also with the PRE Button). Maybe it’s musical and you may like it, but definitely be aware
