    Say something good about acustica.

I start and ill say the developer is a hard working man and one of the vst developers of our time.

Testing all of hes plugins would take a year or two so i wonder what plugin should one use to start this journey?

AA makes good and useful plug-ins. but I don't see AA as an all-powerful plug-in manufacturer, because that's what the manufacturer likes to associate with itself.

I like his idea of capturing the sound of rare, obscure gear, rather than just the usual suspects that all the big companies do. Just from a historical perspective it's an important thing to do, as a lot of those unique units and their characteristics are disappearing with the move to digital.

That said, I don't particularly like the execution, which seems sloppy and faulty. Hopefully his captures can serve as a basis for better replication in the future.

Interestingly the plugins I liked most are Cerise and Eminence, which are both free.

I use some in my daily routine, have about 15, including 5 freebies; I find it silly to become a plugin collector. El Rey, Purple, Pink, Sand, Taupe, and HWMC seem really good to me, with a truly analog sound. They are the best simulations in their respective areas, but that doesn’t guarantee they will sound good (just like having a Neve console doesn’t guarantee it).

Giancarlo is arrogant with criticisms, but now that the danger has come, he seems to have improved a bit. The recent scandal of excessive use of size and performance at the expense of protection really shook my confidence. However, since I use only a few, it’s not worth resorting to cracks.

Giancarlo is not anywhere as bad as many here are posting, and the personal attacks against him are out of control and unjustified IMHO. I'm one of his most vocal long time public critics, having years of contact with him both public and private. He's a driven Scorpio that has successfully built a company using a very different audio technology we all need around, to help push our tools forward. He's an imperfect human like us all and he deserves more respect for the quality tools he's coded for us, and how much he's pushed other developers to improve their tools too. IMHO without G the audio world would be less.

    I can suggest:
Nebula 4.5 - Alex B for consoles, TimP for EQ filters, and comps (Opto 3A), and Cupwise for verbs, filters, and EQs.
Mystic - For clean soft hifi tube needs, stellar on vocals while damn good on acoustic instruments like piano, strings instruments, and percussion.
Henry Q - Great all around channel strip EQ with filters and rez.
Bronze2 - AMAZING hardware like EQ sound with a tight forward attitude. IMHO this is the most underrated EQ ITB today.
Fire The Dees - great hardware like deesser, 90% is the sweet spot.
Fire The Bass - A great Bass enhancer, compliments RenBass amazingly well, sub bass will never know what hit it.
Fire The Clip - Nice simple cheap clipper.
Diamond EQ - Nice bright modern EQ with a killer 40KhZ air band.
Salt EQ - For an all around digital hybrid EQ with cool adjustable EQ bands. As log as your expectations are NOT a true hardware sound from the manufactures this models you may love some Salt on your audio.

Definetely the pink graphic eq. It's so well modeled and analog sounding, the filters are even off by an octave.

He really deliveres "something" new to the audio world. :guru:

Salt, Magenta, White, Taupe, Pumpkin, Ultramarine, Silver reverbs, Lemon ( most analog sounding delay ITB ).

He is an innovator for sure but needs to listen to his user base a lot more.
Upgrading the older plugins is really overdue ( crimson anyone? )

I'm weirdly proud to have disliked this plugin since the beginning to this moment. That explains a little bit why i found it the worst API plugin ever made. Between other things...:trashing:

You are using the wrong samplerate (and probably a messy plugin from a cracker).
C'mon are you really evaluating a plugin from its unofficially modified version?!
