I Will buy 1 SP8 in 2024. And maybe a second one for my external hardware cause I don't like patchbay.

I purchased the evo 16 and two sp8 as an upgrade for my focusrite Scarlett 18i20 and adat. The audients are far superior to the Scarlett , lower latency in logic , preamps have a better noise floor. find I can push them harder before hearing any hiss from the analog chain/ synths . The only issue I had when I first got was clicks and pops which wasn’t down to buffer settings in logic or the m1 Mac it was down to clocking issue I set them up over to clock over optical cables and didn’t buy a bnc splitter / word clock cables . As soon as I added that it solved the issue . Audient support was fantastic in helping me fix the problems .
My only complaint was having to buy rack ears separate . I’m really happy with the upgrade to them.

There really solid interfaces , the smart gain function is great for the analog side with auto leveling off synths / drums / processors . And I love how clean the noise floor is . On my Scarlett
I could only reach half way with the preamps before hitting the noise floor and getting hiss on the analog chain . The audients it’s hardly there with the same equipment . Audient support is quick to reply to problems and even quicker on the Facebook group . The mixer app is pretty good if you don’t want to do the settings from the hardware and once it’s done you can save the profile to the hardware so they can work offline with out being connected to Mac/ pc daw . But I don’t use the interfaces to monitor from I use a controller for my different monitor setups . For me the big improvement was the latency with logic on my Scarlett I had to have it at max buffer size to run large project 100+ midi/audio /fx buses the same projects on the evo 16 run at 128bit buffer size with no noticeable latency in logic . No delay with hardware processing . If you intend to work at 96k you’ll still need 4 optical cables as on the evo has 4 adat ports but if you work at 48k you’ll be able to use two sp8 to give you the 24/24 . The other issue I had when I got it was the talk back function couldn’t be switch to use as a analog insert but Audient sent me a driver to fix this and I could then use channel 23/24 as analog / instrument inset . The lcd displays are a nice feature for viewing ins and outs across all 24channels . One thing to note is that on the last sp8 adat you have to set it to terminate the word clock syncing otherwise it can cause clocking issues but that’s easily done in the initial setup process .
