no. The reason why it is considered difficult is because of what @db100 mentioned. the result is basically a rate limit upon attempts.

hashcat is the world's fastest password cracker and it can run huge rainbow tables which are wordlists. they are hundreds of gigabytes of random passwords, but success depends on whatever the real password is, being contained within the wordlists. Because of all the cores of the GPUs being utilized, a machine like the one mentioned can run millions of attempts per minute.

another tactic they might try is using a program called Crunch. It generates key attempts, and the output of it can be piped to hashcat so the lists are being run as they are being created.

as @db100 pointed out, these are the reasons slow key-derivation function can be used to thwart a brute force of the passkey. It creates a rate limit making attempts very slow. If someones "attack" is running 1000 attempts per minute, when normally it would be millions, most people won't even bother with it and stop their run. Wether this is true of .zip archive files using this, I do not know. But I would expect the user with the 8 gpus in a machine would have already researched that before dimming the lights in the house.

All these passwords, etc, that are supposed to take hundreds, if not thousands of years to crack,
What if,
Let's say there are at least 500 million computers in the world.
Let's say they all have 4 cores at minimum 3GHz, and 8GB of ram
10% are gamers, and have a graphic card with at least 2GHz gpu and 4GB of vram

That would make:
-2 billion cores at 3GHz
- 4 billion gigabytes of memory, or 4'000 petabytes, or 4 exabytes of memory.
-50 million gpus at 2GHz
- 50 million x 4GB vram, 200 Petabytes of video memory

That's just the computers.
Now, let's say there are at least 2 billion smartphones, with a minimum of 4 cores at 2GHz, and 2GB of memory. That's:
-2 billion x 4 = 8 billion cpu cores at 2GHz
- 4 exabytes, or 4'000 Petabytes of memory

Finally, let's count the gaming consoles. Let's say:
There are around 110 million psn users, 45 million ps5 sold, that makes
- 65 million ps4 , 8 cores at 1.6GHz and 7GB of ram-> 600 million cores at 1.6GHz + 500 Petabytes of memory
- 45 million ps5, 8 cores at 3.2GHz +10GB memory -> 400 million cores at 3.2GHz + 400 Petabytes of memory
-30 million xbox x, 8 cores at 2GHz + 8GB memory...... etc
-30 million xbox series s/x, 8 cores at +3GHz + 14GB usable memory..... etc


Ok... all this to say, if it was possible to do some kind of folding@home, and using all the untapped power of all these computers, smartphones and consoles... all working to generate passwords,
I wonder how long it would take, to find the password of some particular file...
...or running some crazy simulations, on the cancer field...

The amount of combined processing power is just insane. Often, the user is just playing some audio file...watching some photos or videos...
And let's not forget the hundreds of millions of computers across hundreds of thousands of companies (ok, many switch to virtualized desktops), that the employee will use to open some pdf file... print it...send some email ... all that, while using 0.1% of the cpu and memory.

Maybe one day, (even before 2030, who knows) our society will be facing some threat, that requires the invention of a new material... a new protein... a new algorithm.... training some complex and ultra revolutionary AI.... and all the devices that have a cpu, some memory and some storage, will be forced to connect to some server , and share their power (yes, it will require electricity...)

And while we talk about electricity, and regarding all the climate panic, computer and console makers could be the next 'bad boys', and will be forced to implement some 'climate-friendly' energy profile, that will, eg, disable 15 cores from that 16-core cpu, on the fly, if the user is just displaying a pdf, or is typing a letter in ms word....or will disable some cpu/gpu- heavy features in a game, will lower the resolution and visual quality, etc , depending if the user wants to reduce the energy usage by 20%...30...50%...

"Hey, Fortnite/etc gamers are using xxxx ExaWatts of power, just to play their stupid game... they don't need all those hi-res graphics and effects ! They should be consuming at least 50% less electricity...!!!"

if it's fake it's not going to happen either way. the safe bet is you will not be brute force cracking a 256 bit anything. But it's a zip file, so it could be 128, 192, or 256 bit. I didn't bother to look. It still depends on where the correct passkey is on the wordlists, and how bad the key is. For all we know, it could take 150 attempts.

This has already been solved. Someone on the plane loaded up their DAW and attempted to use Acustica Audio plugins on a laptop without headphones. This made the mix too awesome for the entire cabin which caused the pilots and passengers to lose their mind and rave naked as the plane crashed into the sea. This is why the 48 and 88 kHz files are missing(for your safety) and why friends don't let friends use Acustica Audio plugins on airplanes.

IF this is a legit occurrence, then the monkey who "received" these supposed videos is blocking and/or withholding evidence pertinent to an international investigation which comes with it penalties kind of on the stiff side. I would advise this "forbes" guy (if he resides in the u.s.) if he knows what's good for him he will turn the stuff over to the NTSB. Being a federal agency the NTSB has all manner of decryption at their disposal. My guess is this is some sort of scam...
