8GB ram Mac vs 16GB ram PC

    Apple should be sued for claiming 8GB ram on Macs is equal to 16GB ram on PCs

    jajaja Apple the company full of open lies.

    i know i saw all the videos about the stupid default config, to just get the price down, also without offering a way to upgrade to 16GB or more after you bought your macbook, bcs unified Memory. Its so stupid.

    8GB i had like a decade ago and even then it wasnt enough on windows, if loaded RAM intensive programs and libraries.
    Also there were various benchmarks out 16GB M3 v 8GB M3 and its clearly to see the RAM is bottleneck with ending up with serious longer rendering times or even opening browsers takes significant longer.

    But yeah 8GB mac is equal to 16GB in PC ...

    Even funnier, I read new Macs need less RAM because they can swap so fast to disk.
    Catalina starts using 4 GB, then start a browser or DAW and it swaps to a non-replacable drive glued to the logic board with limited read/write cycles. I wouldn't buy a used Mini after 2012. You never know how much mileage is on it. Apple also taught people, that batteries in phones last forever and don't need to be replaced. Just throw it away and move to the next product.

    Apple is going to have to calm down and wake up to reality.
    I think we will actually see a transformation of its "business model" in a very near future.

    The world is changing in every aspect and that approach is not going to work for much longer

    Even if 8gb would be like 16gb on a PC, which doesn't make sense.

    32GB ram, a CPU faster then the apple ones and 2tb NVME is still cheaper then the entry level 256GB Mac.

    Also Apple: Fewer performance cores is actually faster, totally is!

    ^^ funny to see Apple's own Logic is not able to properly utilize efficiency cores,

    Reaper remains top notch regardless of where you put it :hillbilly:
