And this is the main reason i will install the R2R version although i paid for almost all of them.
They refuse to touch the older releases and keep on releasing new plugins, this is just unprofessional and unethical.
The bloat R2R removed is the second reason.

Yes it's getting wild with so many new AA releases, and G recently posted on GS that he never said older plugins would be updated, lol. Which is a joke as that was how AA build their entire user base. Ultimately I only use Nebula and a few Acquas, bought more hardware and work hybrid today... and get more work done as I have no time to fiddle with broken, buggy, or illogically designed half assesd tools.

So I've been demoing some of those plugs in the last week, but I don't have much of a conclusion because once I use more than 10 of them on a mix, the session starts freezing at every click, and I like to mix fast. Very hard to experiment with them.

Some of the EQ sound okay, but the compressors work really weirdly and all have a sluggish behaviour. The preamps and tape are interesting. They seem to have a cumulative, gentle compression effect if you stack them as you would in a real life console/tape/console setup, which makes more aggressive compression afterwards unnecessary, but to stack them takes so much CPU that it's once again impossible to judge them on an entire mix without constantly freezing the tracks, which means you can't make small changes on the fly.

They may be good for treating clean home recordings for some "mojo", but mixing with them is impossible. I'll stay with my algos, thank you.

    Oh, and the GUIs suck.

I don't fully endorse this comment but I do think it levies a point I've been feeling regarding all of this.

It's a bit of misinformation to completely rag on Acustica by saying (and making YouTube videos about......) 'Acustica plug-ins are so bloated, the cracked ones are much more slimmed down and run better!' When the majority of the cracks are missing half of their vectors, have bugs that are resolved in the official plugs, need workarounds, and are based on trial versions.

And before anyone wants to jump down my throat I am EXTREMELY thankful for R2R, other teams, and what they do. And I do think it's quite shit how much Acustica packed DRM and punished customers in the process.

they plugins are not unique, like Voice of god from UAD or the RBass from waves... take the ooportunity now and sell them, realize that with that narcissistic guy at the top of the company its not going to show any change.

why me on Windows get updates named "AAX M1 compatibility" ? I'm on WIN, no M1 chip in here ...and there are very few that updates or fixes stuff, the guy yes offered something new to the world but presented in a plate full of sh*** and he even cant deny that, if it wasn't for R2R to show their shady methods of distribution of their own software, the world still would be asleep, and all in all lets say it! Giancarlo by now has many clients, and by THESE facts brought to light by R2R, he shows how he treats his clients, and like I said I am disgusted, spent thousands of EUR, now knowing I could bought myself all UAD plugins and the best audio card they have and I could not ever know who Giancarlo is ...I really believed in his tech and I still do, but from my wallet from now on, it will not get a dime more! (of course if he ever repair THIS MESS! I'll probably get back)

uhhh, and you think we cannot fix that? ...I did not tried them, but I can help collecting all the files that remains to make a whole ...problemo solved!

yeah send me some of your money, I cant decide whether buying plugins or hard drive space, maybe you can help me, otherwise R2R IS THE SOLUTION! not for you obviously! but why are you in here discussing this anyway?

Keep in mind an NVME is needed for the boot drive and almost every library in 2023 is recommending SSD.
If a composer has Kontakt, Falcon, Acustica, Superior Drummer, Spectrasonics and many other large libraries - that is a LOT of space needed... have you checked out the price for a 100TB NVME? - They exist.
Just do not be drinking any liquids when you look at the price
    - Around $40,000.
For nearly 1/8th of the price, you can almost buy the same size in 8TB SATA drives

How many Macs do you know that have multiple terrabyte internal SSDs in them? So most Macbook Air+Pro users are back to buying external drives over some plugins? That is "Hello, UAD" time. "Any other plugins" is exactly what those users will buy. Many Macbook users also own a Mini, or a Studio or a Pro. Buying plugins that can only be used on their bigger machine and not their laptops will discourage some people. (but not all).

My Kontakt libraries sit on 2x 8Tb SATA drives. Kontakt itself is on the boot drive (nvme). You don't need ssd's for libraries unless they bulk load the entire library at once and most do not. The application is more important to be on an ssd. The only Library I have on an SSD of its own is the EastWest OPUS which does bulk load.

As for Acustica, I have a junction link from inside my Common Files\VST3 bootdrive to another drive because I am testing it and it is 34GB. A little large for less than 100 plugins eh? :) Too large to waste on a boot drive that needs permanent uptime.
