If you have a Korg controler device, and it's not seen by its own editor nor by your DAW. Your Korg device is not recognized. This is the solution:

    Why is it not recognized?
The problem with most Korg drivers, including the actual ones, is that they are made like if we would only use one MIDI device controller.
Windows have its own way to manage MIDI transmission. It uses channels (nothing to do with standards MIDI channels) .
So windows distributes these channels randomly to the different midi devices. Each devices can need 4 or more windows midi channels.
Korg drivers only work if their devices are using the first 10 windows midi channels.
So, it's often needed to manually force windows to give to Korg devices one of those first channels.
This is done by editing windows registry.

    Step by Step Solution:

    1. To check your Korg midi setup, run the Uninstall Korg USB Midi Device app (this should be installed as part of the Korg drivers and will not uninstall the driver if you cancel it). We will use it as an information tool.

    You should see this:

As you can see, in this case, Korg device have been assigned Windows midi channels 12 and 13.

For Korg driver to work, we'll have to do some modifications in the registry to force that the Korg devices receive a channel under 9.

The first thing is to allocate an alias to the Korg driver.

    2. Open Regedit, do a reg backup first just in case, and navigate to:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class

Search (CTRL F) to find a class named KORGUM64.DRV
You should see something like this:

    3. Once you have found that expand the node and you will see a list of numbers starting with 0000.
One or more of them will be the Korg setting.
The name should be an Alias with the data midi1 for the first device, midi2 for the second and so on.

Find the first one that has the DriverDesc matching your device.

    4. Expand the node down to the bottom item, which will be KORGUM64.DRV.
Select the node and then you will need to create a new string value.

Do this for all your Korg devices in the class. Note, even though I have just the one Korg device connected there were 4 device sections for it.

    5. With that bit completed for all your Korg devices you need to go to:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Drivers32

Then add a new string value with the name of midi1 and the value data of the driver you allocated to midi1. Repeat this for each device you added in the previous section.

    For 32bit systems
To fix 32 bits applications like the Minilogue sound librarian, it is also necessary to duplicate midi stuff () in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Drivers32 with “KORGUM64.DRV” value.

Now when you run the Uninstall Korg USB-MIDI Device app you should get something like the following:

As you can see, the Device is running on channel 1 and 2. So now, it will work with your DAW.
