Does anybody know how the UA £20 coupon codes work? Is it automatic in your account and how long does it take?

If you bought from a reseller do they still show up? Are there any other sources for UAD discount codes?

 

You get them after making a purchase from the UA store. They've typically shown up roughly 30 mins after a purchase. Sometimes, they don't show up at all, and in that case you can reach out to customer support for them to issue one.

You do not get them when you buy from a 3rd party reseller. These coupons cannot be shared and are tied to the individual's account. During the big sales (summer and christmas), there's a lurker code that's hidden in their website's source code as an easter egg. That code can be shared and used multiple times.

According to UA, they are not transferable, they can only be used in the account they were deposited in.

I do, but sadly, they're not transferable as stated above. I got a 100$ voucher last week after complaining about duplicate plugins inside my iLok and yesterday I got a 25$ voucher I won't use.

nothing can be transfered in the UAD galaxy (unless you sell HARDWARE and plugins to the same person/account)

 

I wonder if that will change with the resellers? I saw 1176 on sale for £149 at UA today, £39 on PluginBoutique. There must be a reason for this huge difference and if they can already change prices like that then maybe they'll be able to put them even lower with coupons at some point?

 

if you have an account logged in you see different prices, even cheaper than PB

obviously if you have an account it means that you have UAD hardware of any kind

 

That was the point that I was making. I was logged in and the offers that I was getting were 149 directly from them or 39 for the same thing from PB... Absolute insanity as far as I can see, if they have to pay PB something. They weren't even matching PB, never mind undercutting them.

 

It really depends on timing - sometimes, the UA offer at that price is over, but still available from resellers at that low price. Or sometimes, a new offer starts at the resellers, then comes to UA later. The 1176 at 39 thing had already happened twice on UA by the time the deal had trickled over to PB.

Take advantage of whatever best offer you can, at the time you're interested in buying. It's the land of eternal sales today with some companies.

 

Ah right... That's interesting. I hadn't bought anything from UA since 2020 after they fucked up the software running the Windows Apollo. Took me a month to get it reset and working again. Anything beyond v.9.11 or whatever I'm on is useless to me and I only use it for recording...

So I tend to see the deals from PB instead, since they harass you like twice a day every day... Seems to work well.

I think if UA hit me up with a 'Distressor, today only, £20' like PB do they'd get my interest. The current method seems to be giving money away so they may as well email me direct with the £20 offer ;)
