So if I get banned then I get a refund for all my AA products?

Ok then give us audio samples of comparison between plug-in and hardware so that we can hear the difference.
I'm not a specialist but I still think that it is much more difficult to recreate a synthesizer rather than an EQ.
I took the comparison with softube and the model 84 because when I compare with the real thing, I honestly don't hear much difference. If you add this to a mix, it becomes completely inaudible.
I would be curious to hear which AA plug ins differ from the rest of the algoritmic market.
On an SSL console for example, there are quite a few videos comparing the real console to the plug-in version and it is clearly inaudible. (Brainworx etc.)

I don't doubt your sincerity, but audio is a complex area for the brain.
The only real proof you can do is to compare the hardware and the plug-in with a blind test.

This is what I did for the EQ and it clearly doesn't deserve to spend crazy amounts of money on heavy and slow plug-ins.
Compare their "pink" "gold" etc with a free plugin like TDR VOS SlickEQ and you will laugh

Giancarlo has so much ego that it is impossible for him to accept that techno is outdated.

umm, no... not even close.

UA is next - hopefully following the same path as acustica. R2R doesn't even have to release the entire UA catalog. Just the key pieces.

Proof of what, an opinion? Someone selling you something should prove whatever their claims are. Someone expressing an opinion met with a request of "proof" should request that you pound sand (not the plugin).

Everyone has their own opinion on AA and the whole situation right now, fair.
But also consider that the owner himself is polite and tries to present his own view on things which certainly is his right so there is no need for some nasty replies from certain users.
We may disagree with some of the things he has done, i do to, but also know that this is his company.
If you think running a succesful business is easy you can try it yourself.
Like it or not he brought something different to the world. What is your contribution to the world?

Yes he is polite HERE because he knows he ISN't in control and cannot ban people! Things goes differently in his "domains" where he has an army of angry fanboys, and believe me, your last sentence has no sense, you don't know any of us here and what we do in real life or our "world contributions". Me and many guys have been sh1tted a lot for pointing out bugs and things broken on his simp groups for years, and now it's his turn. So please, stop being devil's advocate. Thanks.

Sorry to derail the drama with a boring question but.. .when i load Acqua plugs my DAW just crashes (ableton, reaper). I installed the framework correctly, i think... Program Files\Acustica\Framework\xxx.dll

Now... i add the VSTs to the VST folder Acustica?

    From "Acustica Audio Arctic 2023-R2R"
Giancarlo you can start improving CPU performance right now using this tip from R2R. Only encrypt important files!

    Polite?
I just read that he concider one of the moves now to be building new plugins for Mac ONLY as he says we have 60% that is Mac users so he dont give a shit about those 40% Win users that has made him VERY RICH just because hes beloved plugin got cracked.
And i bet alot of those 60% Mac users where Win users before and they bought a Mac when Apple released the new M1 version as AA plugins is very CPU heavy.

"If we wanted to, we could make the Mac versions crack-proof. And if we so desired, we could prevent users from using a trial version beyond the maximum time through certain tricks I've seen around. If we wanted, we could also remove Windows versions and address the root of the problem, as it’s an operating system that inherently prevents long-term protection.
Our userbase is 60% mac, and after this incident number of customers is growing.
Everything, of course, depends on sales."
    I.m.o he is an asshole

Oh your so wrong piracy DO IMPROVE SALES especially if you are a not so well known company even Steinberg who is a VERY WELL KNOWN company and has a legendary Daw Cubase that was one of the hardest to crack ever has finally realized it and removed the heavy protection as they lost alot of money beacuse the competitors Ableton/FL Studio/S1/ has more sales and was "easy" to crack
And people prefer to use those Daws instead of Cubase just beacuse they could use piracy copy that let them try them for free for a long time before they decide to buy them instead of having touse a cut down demo version.

It's like what Bill Gates said in the 90s, where he intentionally let Windows being cracked so everyone at home will use it and will depend on it. That will lead to businesses and schools/universities to start using it as well because it's popular/familiar OS and he believes that's where the money is. That kept him at the very top of the food chain for a really long time.

ps : R2R just released the biggest boi of them all, the top dog, their best selling El Ray. Hyper tech, low CPU, only 500mb, work in all sample rate. Let's see if it's any good.

    100 times agree with this!

Surprised to hear Giancarlo say that disk space never used to be a problem. That sounds tone deaf to me. It has always been one of the main drawbacks. The only reason people accepted it was because we were told it's just part of the sampling tech.
If anything, i would say disk space used to be more of a problem than it is today, at least as far as affordability.

On my current PC i have probably 50gb free disk space. Right on the border of dangerous. I have to be selective, i have literally sold Acustica plugins in the past purely based on optimizing disk space! (and because of high cpu usage)

I would love to move them all to an external drive, but that process is so clunky through the Aquarius app that i haven't mustered the motivation or patience to bother

Actually, his post says that space has *NOW* become a concern. So does that mean, it has become a concern now that everyone knows he is taking up 10X too much of it per plugin? Storage always becomes cheaper until we begin using a newer tech (like hdd->ssd), and then that Cost$ x Storage (gb or tb) ratio loop starts over again.

Look at the size of Del Rey, as an example. The R2R release shows the first version is 58.8 meg (compressed etc), and the 2023 v2 rar archive of the same plugin is 393.1 MB. Can that be for real? It is ~ 7 times bigger for the same software title? Is that to "deliver more added value" to customers?

just tested it on female pop/rock vocal, not very impressed to be honest. I tested it with two of my favorite tube compressors, arturia STA and black rooster 426C, and gain reduction around 7db. i think el rey did the same job as those two.

i remember jaycen joshua once said in MWTM, el rey adds warmth and body to the vocal, but i didnt actually feel it haha. will keep testing.
