    ah.. no.
As a programmer, you can't always foresee everything. Above all, we make very few mistakes in the operation of our own programs. that's why beta testers are so important. but it's good that you're continuing to look after your baby.

Bad programmers would include the whole program in one big exception handling routine so that no errors are reported to the UI. App stops and out. I've seen it.

Sorry, but in my opinion, bad programming is not going to the end of resolving the errors that are reported back. The "Out of bounds error"s are in KLU due to peoples libraries non meeting my programmes expectations ! At one point, I hadn't trapped the error of people using the programme for other things than checking their libraries, NOT accounting for those with no libraries at all. That was my mistake and I trapped it. It now reports that the user has no libraries and suggests moving to the NICNT window to install some - normal. Other errors would seem to come from people throwing any old thing in the Service Center folder. For instance I have someone testing my new version 2 (posted elsewhere here) who reported the V2 software listing AU plug-ins in his Service Center folder that V1 wasn't reporting before and were never a problem. OK, but what are AU plugins doing in the Service Center folder. KLU doesn't even look for them ! It looks for XML files. I'm still trying to figure out how KLU is listing them ! Obviously you can't foresee everything. I am a professional musician and producer, NOT a professional programmer. I do not have a mailing list full of beta programmers at my disposal, nor unlimited funds and time to devote to this. I try to deal with problems as they're reported, but I don't have the ressources to test on every single computer configuration out there. I use virtual machines a lot for testing and four or five different physical ones.
My main error with V1 was making it a release version immediately. I have not made that mistake with V2! It is beta and may remain that way forever

Just noticed that HCISO are distributing version 1.0.4 of KLU on their distribution of Kontakt 7.xx.
This is NOT the latest version of KLU V1, which is 1.2.4, and which can be found in post 1 of this thread, along with ALL the later versions of V1 after 1.0.4. There are quite a few ! So folks, before complaining about bugs, always make sure you are using the latest version of your software.
This doesn't just go for KLU

Hello. I'm new to this KLU thing. How can you create and add libraries? I can't find any helpfull instruduction video or threads about this.

I only installed Kontakt 7.7.0 (HCiSO) and KLU version 2.0.0. Can you please help how can I create instrument libraries step by step.
    Thanks for your help.

KLU does not create libraries, so you need to look elsewhere for that information !

You need KLU 5 for those old libraries…

Do I need to download libraries first?
I have some native instruments licence list by upid text file. Do you know what's this?

    Yes I do :).
Download, create, whatever, KLU starts being useful as from when you have some. If you want to make them yourself, check out Kontakt forums.
You, being "new to this KLU thing", could start by reading its documentation ! It's full of useful information
I know everyone has to start to learn somewhere, and you do appear to be an absolute beginner, so you do really need to start from the very beginning on the appropriate forums. This one is for KLU version 1 which I think could really be closed completely now !

Admins ?? A reference to KLU V2 is in the first post of this thread.

Ah @Fred Bloggs what magnificent tools KLU 1 and 2 are!! Fantastic work which has given life to old libraries without NICNTs and resurrected others too. I can only thank you for all the hours you must have put into it their creation.
I have had only one persistent minot problem with two out of a family of 4 libraries by Hammers and Wave. With one library (Acoustic) KLU says it's installed but it doesn't appear in Kontakt 7.7 and when I try and load individual instruments from its folder I get a message saying it's not installed. As for the Prepared library it loads but says files are missing which is can't seem to reconcile when pointed at its own Sample folder. Any pointers for further investigation?

Hi Jaydee, thanks for the praise and yes, I spent many more hours than I should have on KLU, but then again, programming is a hobby :). That's what I keep telling my wife
Are these very old libraries, like Kontakt 4 or before ? That could be part of your library that doesn't appear. I tried to find it without success so I couldn't try for myself :dunno:. As to the missing files, perhaps they are really missing or corrupted… it happens . Tha problem is not down to KLU. It either installs them (or tries!) and succeeds or not. The rest is down to the state of the libraries and Kontakt's ability to read them.
Sorry. Not much help I know, but if I find the libraries somewhere, I'll post back my findings.

Thanks for your speedy reply. Much appreciated. The library is made by Skybox Audio and is on the sister site. Hopefully that will make finding it easier. They date from 2021 so are quite new. There are 4 piano libraries under the title Hammers and Waves. Acoustic and Prepared seem to be the ones causing problems.
I think the missing files (on Prepared Piano) are there but there’s something wrong with the .nkc file possibly. If you have the time and find something I’d be extremely grateful. Many thanks.

Thank you for sharing your hard work! It makes Kontakt possible for a lot of us on the Mac side of it. And your wife is a saint :)

I have two libraries that keeps going back to "This instrument belongs to a library that is not installed currently!", even after I replace the NICNT, that usually does the job, at least I made them work, but then when I close and reopen Kontakt they go back to not working. One library actually disappear completely from Kontakt. I don't have other Kontakt version installed, only 7.7.2, the library are on a external SSD as all the others, in detail they're Slate + Ash - AURAS and Shreddage 3 Hydra, even if delete the XLM and PLIST files Kontakt gives them installed but with missing files. Any suggestions?

I'm still having this issue that I had with earlier versions where every time I open KLU it takes ages scanning my whole library directory again.

Are we talking V1 still ? If so, please try V2. If not, please post in the V2 thread.

Did you see that on the sister site post for "Prepared", there were extra links (both dead now) for NKX Missing files ? Did you download them ? Could that be your issue ?

No I didn't so don't have them. I will try and hunt them down. Thanks. And see if it solves the issue with Prepared. I'm re-downloading Acoustic now and starting from scratch.
